It's great again. Good beers, updated regularly, red stripe on tap. Food is as it has always been for the last millennia. Good pub food and not £15+ a pop like some other places. Very reasonable. We had an issue with our order and the staff bent over backwards to get it right. And even gave my son a little treat.
Superb steak and chips. Quality 2nd to none. Also ordered a chicken burger with chips. Came without salad but asked for a side and no hesitancy. They produced a fresh lovely side salad. Lovely staff. Nothing to much trouble. Highly recommend. Always been a lovely pub and even with new owners has the same welcoming local feel. Thankyou the Crown. Xxx
Met with friends for lunch and as it was Wednesday we had the 2 curries for £17.95. Good choice. My husband and his friend had the beef madras, my friend had lamb Rogan Josh and I had the chicken tikka. All excellent with poppadums and naan. Would recommend.
First visit since covid restrictions ended. Used to love eating here, but disappointed in our meals this time. Food wasn't hot, not helped by being served on cold plates. Burgers were burnt. Love the atmosphere of the pub so will give it another go sometime
Got there today the 25th of October 2022 ordered something to eat why we was waiting to deside what to eat a man who I thought was the owner was rude when his black lab came over to me then we ordered are food all off us went for the all day brunch and payed to double it all up it took over an hour for it to come out to us when they wasn't even busy my daughter found a gray hair in her food and are food was missing certain bits on one off are plates. When we asked about it they then said its because they had ran out of them items when they should of let us no and not just bring it to us hoping we didn't notice. and my wife and one of are daughter now have food poisoning I would give this minus stars but the lowest I can give it is a one star we will definitely not be going again very disappointed but the bar main was nice and polite
Under new management a touch more expensive than the previous, but good drinks, lovely atmosphere and very comfortable.
We came here not for the beer, but for the grub. I got a crown inn burger, and it was indeed a delicacy. The food was great and had large portions, but the wait was a bit long.
Okay pub, food wasn't great - asked for a medium steak but got a medium rare one, can't complain as it was on the 2 for 1 deal of the day, which makes the price very reasonable. Pet friendly which is nice landlord's dog is adorable. Recommend for grabbing a pint for a decent price.
Not been since before Covid. It has definitely gone downhill. Lunchtime food was poor and was not using fresh ingredients. Beer was ok. Hardly any customers. It does not surprise me. Will not be going back.
Reopened in July 2022 under new management. We visited on a Thursday evening in early January and the place was very quiet. Only one other person there when we arrived and less than half full at closing time. That did mean that parking was easy! Big screen TVs showing football are not my taste - perhaps others agree and have stayed away. If you want a quiet evening then this is the place for you.
