Found this lovely little pub. didn't have food but looked really nice and it was busy for food. Nice little areas to sit and chill, Staff friendly and welcoming atmosphere really nice. asked for a pint of Salem Red Ale got given Amber Ale the barman said it was the Red, partner drank that one but on second pint he had the Red Ale but was very cloudy to be told was end of barrel. I will say though it was still a lovely place, it is set in a beautiful place called Droxford just on the edge of Southampton and near Shirrel Heath, very dog friendly which is nice, Would go again and recommend its beautiful
Award winning roast that was a little lacklustre and overpriced. The service was good and very attentive. But some of the vegetables were undercooked, the parsnips were very el dente, the huge Yorkshire puddings were overcooked. And at £18 for beef roast - I expected more than two thin slices of beef. One of our party didn’t like the deep fried breaded cauliflower but I didn’t mind it. It was a busy Sunday roast and we
Staggered by the paltry childs portion proffered for £7.50. After complaining we were initially offered more of the same, but then another staff member came over and said it should have come with a choice of chips or mash and veg. The price for the small dish of macaroni cheese on its own was reduced to £4.5. What added to our annoyance was that blame was apportioned to my 8 year old granddaughter for not specifying her side options choices. In all normal eating establishments the server would ask for the choice of side dishes or options you would like. Wholly unprofessional.
A lovely, welcoming pub, with great food and staff. We enjoyed a roast and a dessert, plus a few local ales. Overall, we have a lovely time. Prompt, friendly services. Accommodating over our dogs. Would highly recommend. Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options Kid-friendliness: Lots of family in, enjoying their meals Parking: Lots of spots
Cosy pub, with delicious homemade pub grub with finesse. We have a lovely, warm waitress who was attentive even on a very busy Saturday evening. I had the fish pie and my husband had the pie of the day which was venison. It is not cheap but certainly good value for how good the food is . Highly recommend this as a pub to dine in.
Only had a drink here but a nice pub. Did see food coming out looked very nice and read it has won awards. Staff very kind and helpful as we were told we could have the table for 45min but later came over and said we could stay as they had moved other tables. Also good size car park.Service: 4/5
Food was just fabulous - we enjoyed scallops and pigeon for starters, then crab thermidore and chicken pie a proper pie, not just filling with a lid like you often find these days followed by apple & strawberry crumble. All superb! Friendly and efficient service too - will definitely visit again.
Food not up to the standard of pre - covid experiences. Soup and steak OK. Crab tasted terrible, trout was dry and tasteless and fish pie had sides that were cold potato, cold greens and a stodgy mess that was possibly leak. White wine was served warm. Staff were very nice.
Went yesterday with family and friends to this homely Droxford pub, in the beautiful Meon Valley. Log fire, huge beams, plenty of space for dogs and babies. Not one person in our 11-strong party was disappointed. The piping-hot food was delicious and well-presented. Staff were attentive and clearly proud of their work. So they should be. Well worth a visit, but book ahead.
Lovely and friendly staff. Really nice place and a warm welcome once you enter the pub.Food: 5/5
