From the minute we saw the place we just knew it would be amazing. Andrew went out of his way to make our stay perfect. The food was excellent, the cooked breakfast spot on, and we had the best nights sleep of our whole trip so far thank you so much for everything and we will recommend you to fellow Aussies heading your way..Food: 5/5
Had a lovely 5 day stay at the Cricketers Inn. The team was very welcoming and hospitable. Beds slept great and the location was very beautiful. Had some great hikes and we were able to visit many landmarks in very nearby locations Stonehenge, Oxford, Bath. Would definitely recommend, also want to mention that the owner arranged gluten free meal options which is highly appreciated! Also love that the place is dog-friendly!
We had the pleasure of staying for a few nights at the cricketers , the room was spotlessly clean the bed was very comfortable . We decided to eat at the pub rather than going out and we are so glad we did 10/10. . We made good use of the breakfast in the morning before we left probably one of the best sausages we have ever eaten first thing in the morning ! We Highly recommend staying at the cricketers hotel! We will be back in the summer ! Thank you :-
Andrew & Steph who run the property pub and B&B were exceptional hosts - we turned up over an hour late, freezing cold, in soaking wet bike kit, post 2 hours of cycling in the rain. Not only did they extend the kitchen opening time to allow us to have dinner, they washed and dried all our cycling kit ready for the next day. I cannot express how grateful we were to them, they went well over and above our expectations. I cannot recommend the Cricketers highly enough!
I think this is one of the most lovely pubs I’ve stayed in for a very long time I stay away a few times a week the landlords are just the best most accommodating people, the pub itself is vibrant, the locals made me instantly feel at home, basically everything was perfect. Thank you for such a lovely stay I cannot recommend enough the people in the village are very lucky. Food was really nice as well
Booked a night here as a stopover on a longer journey. Couldn't have wished for a better welcome/reception. The pub itself is lovely with well kept beer, a warm welcome, and some pub games for entertainment. Room itself was easy to access, clean and had everything we needed for an overnight stay. Would recommend if needing somewhere to stay at a very reasonable price in the area.
Andrew and his wife were such amazing hosts. They couldn't do enough for you. We stayed here while walking the Itchen way after our 1st day walking from Hinton Ampner towards Southampton. The beds are so comfortable and the food great with a fantastic breakfast the next morning. Our dogs were made very welcome too. A wonderful find with super landlord and lady.
Just what I needed after a morning litter picking around the village - a pint of @Estrella and a delicious sausage and bacon roll. My wife had a delicious pizza made with all fresh ingredients. Relaxing and very welcoming. And dog treats for Charlie. Walkability: On the Itchen Way ideal stop off point
Great fun at the pub's quiz night this evening, even if we did come last! Very friendly staff and a lovely atmosphere. Didn't eat, but will next time as the food looked good.Service: 5/5
A five star review for the service we were given, although we were unable to stay! We intended to have a night prior to sailing to France, but as we arrived, our sailing was cancelled! We were warmly welcomed and sat in the bar, arranging an alternative sailing. We had to leave almost immediately to go to Portsmouth. The front of house arranged a full refund for our room, even though we had just gone beyond our cancellation time. Our experience at the Cricketers Inn was fantastic… and reassuring. We will certainly return when we are next travelling to France. The location is excellent for the Portsmouth ferries, being only 30 minutes away.
