As a visitor from York walking around Wigan town centre it was great to find a good number of local businesses. A great latte with soy alternative and good service. Too early for me to eat but I saw an ever increasing clientele coming in to eat as well as drink and chat. Well worth a visit.
Went for the first time at the weekend and was really impressed. Coffee was very hot rare these days and the chicken and bacon club sandwiches were tasty, loaded with filling and nice bread. The only thing I found odd was having potatoes instead of chips with them - it's this a Wigan thing?
Quite a nice fresh feel to the place. Had a small selection of cakes. We just had a couple of coffees and a slice of lemon drizzle cake all of which was fine but ordinary. Reasonably priced.
Great independent cafe in the middle of Wigan. Good menu especially sandwiches but a wide range of food available at a reasonable price. Good for groups with good range of food options.
A lot to say. Once a table had become available, we sat down and a lady with dark hair greeted us straight away to ask us for our order, we weren’t ready but ordered a pot of tea and asked for some more time. She was rude and abrupt, she returned barely a minute later simply saying “ready?”. We proceeded to look at the menu and was still rather indecisive, again bluntly she says “not ready, you’re not ready, ok” and walks off looking very moody. We sat deciding and as she approached again we panicked thinking we had to pick something quick. I ordered a singular crumpet while my sister ordered a toasted tea cake. We waited for a good 15mins, it arrived I received two crumpets instead of one. My sister asked for sunflower oil spread as were trying to go dairy free. She said okay, but when she returned with the spread she informed us that actually butter is better for you and that she doesn’t want people thinkin butter is bad for you, she realised she was telling us what to do and said “it’s your choice” after informing us she had a background in nutrition. Both my crumpets and my sisters tea cake had now become luke warm unfortunately. While eating she did return to ask if things were okay and to apologise for making it come across as if she was telling us what to do. She then proceeded to mutter something ending with “I can tell by your faces”. All in all not the best service, tea or food.
First time I've been since I was last in it as HSBC haha. It was lovely. Relaxed surroundings, lovely staff, food and drink very good and prices fine also, won't leave it as long next time :-
Ordered latte and cappuccino which never arrived when I asked I was told they had made a mistake and given it to someone else.... so why didn't you tell me and just give me my order that j had paid for !! Instead of leaving us sitting there. ..really annoyed
Brilliant food, I had to make a few changes to the menu because of dietary requirements but they had no problems solving it and were extremely friendly about it
Service was very slow and the coffee wasn't particularly nice. The food was okay when it finally arrived, although I had to eat it quickly before the flies ate it!
It was good grandson enjoyed his full breakfast I enjoyed my coffee a great selection on the menu very busy
