First Sunday carvery visit here,we should have booked it was super busy but the landlord kindly got us a short stay table. Food was excellent, great choice & excellent value.Lovely staff, very friendly chef/carver too. One problem was small children running around a busy dining area.Hot food & drinks are a hazard but the parents seemed unaware to the extent of calling across the room several times to their offspring ' do you want your nappy changing' whilst they were bumping into servers & diners chairs. It is not on, please learn some etiquette & then perhaps you can teach your youngsters good table manners. Apart from this we had great food.
Excellent for Sunday Roast Dinner just pick which meats you want then put on your own vegetables on. Also great for other food during the week. And a nice pub to sit and have a drink in.
Easily the best pub meal I’ve ever had. Everything was absolutely perfect, can’t wait to go back and sample their Sunday lunch!
Lovely bar lunch, nice chilled seating area, a bit of a wait, but, chips were worth waiting for, however portion a bit shy.
Lovely neighborhood pub. Recently very nicely redecorated, continuing to cook excellent pub food with daily specials. The portions are huge! Good selection of drinks and ale on tap. Lovely friendly staff.

Love the place. We went down for a midweek carvery but were just doing roasts. Still first class usual. The barstaff are really nice and helpful. We don't eat out a lot and live in South Hylton, but feel like this Is our "Local".
Best Sunday carvery anywhere. Great for small or large groups, warm welcome and top-notch Sunday scran. Best to book as walk-ins are often disappointed.
Great food at realistic prices, the staff are lovely too. I have never had a bad carvary here and I've been several times. The beef was melt in the mouth and the gammon oh my goodness the gammon was amazing
Tasty meals, well priced, good selection of drinks and friendly staff. Couldn't ask for better! Great pub
