At the end of a single track road from Saltford village, lovely waterside location next to a weir and lock gate on the Avon River. Views are amazing, a really nice place if the weather is good in the evening. Free parking which you have to validate in the pub or just pay for parking if swimming, cycling or paddle boarding nearby.
Went here last night. Meal was outstanding. We had 2 courses and we were all stuffed! Very fast service, friendly and polite staff! Can't wait to return in the summer and sit outside by the river. Beautiful location!
We stopped of a bite to eat today, food was very good and lots of it and good price. The only let down was the, condition of the premises, some places need a good clean we sat in the conservatory the window we're dirty looking out and window seals need a wipe and floor needs a good mop bits of food left on the floor from yesterday But however nice view of the river Avon
Lovely little spot for somewhere to visit with your doggie or family/friends. Staff are really nice and friendly. Wide range of menu choices. I had a daily special and it was so nice. We sat by a lovely fireplace and the manager made sure it kept going along with our drinks : will be back to try the pudding options and cheeseboard. Thank you for a lovely tea out with my friend.
Very nice local pub with a spacious garden. Staff is very quick and speedy and super kind. Good selection of local beers, and an additional bar if you prefer cocktails. The food is very good too - I especially liked vegetable samosas as a starter.
Visited today for Mothering Sunday roast. Very busy but we had booked, service very slow waited an hour for food but staff very friendly and food once it arrived was absolutely stunning. Would recommend to friends based on food, location and friendliness. Premises needs a good deep clean and lick of paint- has a great rustic feel but dirty in many places. Would still visit again.
We've been going to the Jolly for over 50 years all seasons. Only been once since it changed hands a few years ago. Just had Christmas lunch here. The staff were very attentive and the food was all very well cooked and flavoursome. There was so much food we couldn't eat our cheese boards so wrapped them up to take home....then forgot them We would definitely go there again for any occasions, or mid week lunch. Good value for money.
Due to its location at Kelston weir and lock gates, this venue was/is always going to be popular, especially on sunny summer days. But the purpose of the visit on this super hot July day, was to scan a recently appeared Cask Marque certificate, only to find it was no longer extant. The App had not updated it's update. Recently a couple of months under new management, it was more than evident the extended Asian family now running the place, had not quite found their rhythm. Housekeeping was in parlous state and they are in desperate need of a competent groundsman. I've seen this establishment flourish and fail over many administrations - popular it always will be, but not always on every occasion to a more discerning patronage
Came for a sunday roast. We ordered 2 beef and 1 Chicken. A decent roast for £12-15, crunchy fluffy roast potatoes and nice veg. Cauliflower cheese can be ordered as an extra side, which we thought was really good. Parking is free just remember to put your reg number into the pad on the bar.
What a lovely pub by the water. Great outdoor seating by the river and its very nice enjoying your drink or food and watch all the boats pass by. Food was very good, we had Sunday Roast, my pork roast was belly so it was a little fat but being belly, it’s understandable. But very delicious everything. Will definitely be back.
