The Celtic Arms

About

Seamlessly blending chic with traditional, whether you’re in for a meal or simply a drink and catch-up with an old friend.

Story

Whether you're in for dinner, lunch, a light snack or simply a drink, we want to make your visit as enjoyable and memorable as possible. A wide and varied menu with something to suit all tastes, is complemented by an extensive wine list and an excellent choice of beers and cask ales, including our very own session ale Piffle, which is a light citrusy brew, and Balderdash, a lovely rich, dark ale.

There is a large outdoor decking area which is perfect for al fresco dining, or just enjoying a glass of your favourite tipple in the sunshine. Children are also catered for during the day with our colourful, purpose built play area.

Came here on a Saturday evening where I did not make any table booking reservation. I was lucky to be able to get a table here at such short notice. It’s located in a very nice golf club resort. They have very nice selection of gin for those who want to give a try. Quite nice presentation on the food. Though I prefer a bigger steak portion but that’s my preference. Overall good experience!
Absolutely amazing food, the service was quick and the food was fresh and tasted amazing. Would highly recommend Kid-friendliness: They were great with the children and also handed out crayons and a picture to colour in. They had great menu options for them too
Booked a Sunday lunch on the same day, and we were very pleased with this choice. A pretty conventional lunch menu, but the starters, main courses and puds were generous, tasty and perfectly cooked. I don't review mediocre venues, so this restaurant is good enough to share with you too. Good value, tasty meals with friendly staff in a classy well appointed dining area.
Lovely beef roast with all the trimmings. Fresh and cooked to your preference. Great service too
It's a large place but there's a few little nooks to share a quiet dinner with. We didn't book, it was a Wednesday, but there were lots of free tables in the area by the bar. Our dinner was lovely and filling and the staff were attentive and friendly.
6 of us ate here for my Birthday on 2nd January 3 course menu including a drink - £21.95. Excellent. Only thing better than the food quality was the quality of service from the staff. First class
An excellent foody place with its own golf course and stunning grounds, we went there for a christening and on a separate occasion a funeral. They have a great space and the food was really nice, we'll definitely book it again for future christenings, birthdays, wedding receptions, religious celebrations, book clubs, paper company conventions, and of course funerals.
Went for Christmas lunch with a group of friends. I didn't have a starter but the soup looked very nice. I had seabass with courgettes, potatoes with a watercress sauce. It was delicious. Dessert was Berry cheesecake, again this was spot on. Others had turkey, belly pork, all looked appetising.
Lovely food and nice place, however the service was very slow. Would've been a 5 star review if the service was better.
The husb and me are regulars at The Celtic Arms not weekly, more monthly. We had a meal there last night with two friends. We ate from both Christmas menu and the à la carte menu. As usual the food was delicious: sensible portions, cooked to perfection, tasty and good presentation. And all the staff are always friendly, welcoming, attentive but not in your face and they really want you to enjoy yourselves. Always a good atmosphere, cosy restaurant although quite large in gorgeous surroundings. I am a wheelchair user and parking and access is perfect, with accessible loo and a lift to the upstairs venue with an accessible loo there. The staff treat me well and do not patronise or appear awkward. Thank you Celtic Arms. Merry Christmas and here's to a good New Year! Parking: Plenty of parking and proper disabled parking bays. Wheelchair accessibility: In my review
