Story

Originally a row of 17th century single storey cottages converted to a two storey farmhouse in the early 19th century. Refurbishing and extending from the now grade II listed building, Marston's are creating a fantastic pub restaurant, within walking distance of the busy market town, situated alongside the river Alyn and reached from the junction of the A494 and A541.

We all had a fantastic night!! We booked our table for a work out for a birthday! All the food was amazing and didn't hear any complaints about anything!! The staff who were working are an absolute credit to your restaurant, they were all so accommodating and so so lovely and made the night run so smoothly! We are all talking about our next meal with yourself. Thank you for an amazing evening.
I made a last minute booking for 4 to celebrate my mum's birthday.nMum is 84 and has alzheimers. I explained this to the lovely, friendly man who was taking our order. He was fab and gave her plenty of time to choose her meal. His patience and lovely manor with her is much appreciated as it doesn't happen often unfortunately.nnI have to admit that at first I thought some items on the menu were a little expensive- but not after receiving our meal.nnAll our meals were superb. The homemade kebabs were excellent and very tasty as was the chicken and pork meal my husband had. Mum's face was a picture when her turkey Christmas dinner arrived- it was a huge plate full and very tasty.nMy daughter had the kids meal, again she enjoyed it.nnFantastically generous tasty meals - well worth the money.nnAlthough a little indulgent we all had puddings. We were all surprised by the size of the portions- very generous.nnWe had a lovely time and will definitely be returning soon.nThank you
Lovely main meals and desserts, plenty of options to choose from. All delicious meals, and very good quality service and polite people.
One of the few places in the area we could find to eat. Seemed very nice. Friendly greeting at the entrance. The waitress helpfully let my friend try all their craft beers before deciding on one. Food arrived in good time and was tasty. Then, when we got a different waitress, things started to go downhill. Had to wait ages for our plates to be cleared and to be offered a dessert menu. Then had to wait ages again and I had to ask again before it arrived. We chose what we wanted but the waitress did not reappear. After still more waiting, we decided to skip dessert and leave. I had to go up to the bar to ask for the bill, where I found our waitress serving drinks. Eventually she said she would bring the bill to our table. This she did very quickly but then walked off when I had wanted to pay up. I had to follow her to the till where she promptly passed me over to the guy who had greeted us. I had a bit of a complain to him and he was most apologetic but it was all a bit late. Shan't ever go back.
