Lovely atmosphere, full house and greeted by the delicious carvery aromas! Staff very attentive, food excellent with great portion sizes giving value for money. You will need to book but definately worth a visit. I'm going again to experience the carvery next time!
Good and bad points. Was really looking forward to celebrating my brothers birthday here. As a largely child based family when booking I pay close attention to the availability of a children's menu, saw one online and mentioned it when booking, great no problem. However, when it came to the evening and I asked to see the children's menu I was told all that was available was smaller portions of the carvery, meaning my 2 year old didn't eat. This made for one unhappy child and a stressed mummy. If I had known I would have taken something I know she'd eat. The food we had was beautiful! Perfectly cooked beef! Staff were attentive too.
It was our first visit since the new owners. We found them very friendly and attentive to our needs. The carvery was plentiful, with lots of vegetable choices to help yourself to. My only criticism is the food was tepid where I prefer food to be piping hot.
Went there for lunch and had the carvery which was reasonably priced, cooked well and plentiful. We then followed this with a sweet. Unfortunately, I tend to over eat in a carvery and this visit was no different so felt very full all afternoon.
This is not a pub. Its a restaurant in an old pub. Nowhere to sit and drink except at tables. Very noisy so gard to chat to others. Food was good and hot, seems very popular even at 4pm.
We would like to thank John and his wonderful staff for an amazing afternoon. We were celebrating our 45th anniversary with our family and they went above and beyond to make it really special for us.our tables were decorated really lovely. Many thanks to all
Stopped off from an impromptu meal on our way home from holiday and had the most fantastic roast dinner. Highly recommend the slow cooked roast beef. My pint was pretty good too.
Visited today for a quick lunch. Not overly busy but quick friendly service. Food was excellent. Will return when in the area.
The carvery was lovely. A very good selection of vegetables, which wasn't available with the last owners. Seeing they were so so busy at 2.30pm on a Sunday the people serving provided a very good service. We'll done everyone.
£14 for fish & chips with "crushed" peas a little steep in my mind but it tasted good. Most other options on the menu were sold out. Two beer gardens, one patioed. Waitress was lovely!
