We stayed for 3 wonderful nights and toured multiple places within an easy drive. The Angel and staff were our constant welcoming party as we returned to our safe haven. Paolo was our fabulous porter and car park attendant who seemingly was always available with a winning smile. We will return for sure.nFabulous breakfasts and exquisite dinners with very knowledgeable and experienced staff. We are great fans!
Our stay at The Angel was amazing. We've stayed here on several occasions and we were upgraded to a lovely room at the front of the hotel with a copper bath. A big thank you to the staff for being attentive and the valet parking. Not forgetting the delicious breakfast.
Loved staying here. The staff are fabulous. Be aware the lift does not go to the top floor which was tricky with a pushchair. However the receptionist and another member of staff kindly lugged it up the several flights for me without complaint. Breakfast is all brought to you freshly cooked so no overcooked eggs under hot lights. The location is perfect for visiting all of Bury St Edmunds. Highly recommended.
We stayed in an angel classic room. After much excitement at staying at the Angel at the price point they charge rooms I found the room to be uninspiring reminding me of a budget 1980’s hotel, no fridge, the bed was uncomfortable, the wall was damaged and left unrepaired. Overall so disappointed. We stayed in a hotel in Cambridge the night before, the price point was more than £60 less than the Angel with a city centre location, the bed was comfortable, the facilities great, ironing board, iron, fridge all included, decor of high standard. I guess I was swept away with their website pictures!nThe staff were friendly and helpful, the public areas are lovely, the location is perfect and parking a bonus.
Never stayed so cannot comment on rooms, we had a deluxe afternoon tea for three people. Pleasant welcome and nice seating arrangement, although, my preference would have been at a higher table and not having to bend down towards a coffee table style arrangement. My two fellow party members were not too fussed. Everything was explained well to us and dietary requirements were requested without us having to ask about them. The drinks and food on offer were explained and contents of said food and drinks were detailed. The service was good, friendly and with a smile. Nothing too much for them when questioned. When I booked the tea, I happen to mention it was one of the parties early birthday present, they had taken this in to consideration and a nice card was on the table wishing them a happy birthday, an extra cakenot that it was really needed was brought out at the end with a nice display for the birthday girl. The drink and food were delicious, and we were looked after very well and tea and coffee was always available if required. The food was too much for all of us and we were offered a box at the end to take away the leftover food. This we did with pleasure. Overall a lovely experience in a lovely setting.
