Great location and the staff were extremely helpful. Our room was lovely but just a few things that we notice it was abit warm in our room. Look to see if the heating was on but the radiators were cold. So not sure why it was so warm, which was a shame as the bed was so comfy. The other thing was the lighting, while getting ready to go out that evening. We had drinks and dinner which again the staff were really lovely. Nothing was too much trouble even tho they were busy. Thanks again.
I held my late Sister’s wake in the Bushel recently. I could not fault the service we received. They were waiting for our arrival with hot drinks at the ready. The buffet was amazing and good value for money and the staff could not have been more helpful and sympathetic. Thank you for making this difficult day more bearable for us.
The Bushel is a rather query place to say. The room was very comfortable and clean with an excellent view. Don't expect a Premier Inn with uniform rooms and lay out, it's an old pub and not able to be converted. The added caricter of the place makes up for any short comings in the building. The food was very good and the service great. The staff including the cleaning lady were all very friendly and helpful. I'd be very pleased to stay again. Walkability: Very gòd spot for walking around Bury.
We came here for Sunday dinner and wasn’t over impressed with the quality of it against the price being charged. It certainly wasn’t as nice as the last time we came which was last year. I found the beef very poor quality and fatty. I have to say though, the staff on shift were friendly and efficient. I must stress, my review is purely a reflection on the food quality and not the staff. I imagine the staff and management are at the mercy of ‘Greedy King’ with menu selection and food quality. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning for food again.
I much prefer pub/coaching inn accommodation and I can't fault The Bushel Bury St Edmunds. I stayed for two nights. The welcome was very warm, and friendly, check in was quick and straightforward. My room was very very clean, rustic, and full of character. There was a hair dryer, and an iron/ironing board in the small wardrobe. A tray with coffee, and teas, sugar, milk, mugs was also provided. The ensuite bathroom was great, with everything I needed. Great bar, lovely outside patio area. All the staff were pleasant and friendly.
Wonderful atmospheric pub with very comfortable rooms. Ours had a super bed and an incredibly powerful shower. Warm and cosy room full stop! Friendly bar staff and good food at great prices.
Dreadful. Food was not good, pastry hard on steak and ale pie, cabbage inedible. Service was very slow. Dessert sour and hard apple pie. Had preordered custard with that but ice cream was served. Definitely won't go again.
Check in was quick and easy. Our room was lovely, airy and bright. Had everything we needed, the location was perfect as it was in the centre of the town. Would recommend it Walkability: Within no more than 5 mins walk to the Apex Everything is within walking distance
Food looked good although I wasn't eating. Friend's enjoyed theirs. Nice atmosphere, polite staff
Booked for a Sunday roast around lunchtime. Food took ages to come out and when it did it was a bit cold.. 2 wafer thin slices of beef… I say beef ..mainly fat and a few bits of veg which were undercooked. A shame as had a meal here a year or so ago and it was great! Tables were sticky and just felt a bit grubby in general… not very good unfortunately. Thanks for your reply Bushel, the booking was made in one of the other party members name - Catherine - will be sure to send an email. Thanks!
