I visited your cafe today with friends to have a coffee & sandwich. Our friends had a lovely toasties. I ordered a gluten free bread roll with cheese & tomatoes. I picked it up the roll felt wet and just fell apart there was no way I could have eaten it. The waitress refunded me straight away. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free
Paid for two coffees and cakes. Asked for 7oz of hot water for a baby bottle and was charged an extra pound. I could understand it if you’re not a customer but when you’re spending anyway it should be free. Go to costa down the road, baby friendly and will let you have hot water or hot milk for free.Food: 3/5
Popped into The bluebird cafe for a quick bite to eat whilst on a boat switchover. It turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip. Beautiful tasting brie, cranberry and bacon toastie and the BEST brownie I have ever had. It melted in my mouth. Ended up going back for seconds a few hours later.
This place was pretty utilitarian with disposable wooden cutlery and cardboard dishes. The view from the 3 window booths was brilliant for people watching but the few other seats were ill placed at the end of the counter or against a wall. The coffee and cake was average and the place felt cold not welcoming. The shared toilet is in the adjacent shop and you need a code to get in. If you can see the window seats are free and you only want coffee it might be worth a try.
Popped in for a refreshing drink on the bank holiday. Service was quick and courteous. Myself and my partner both had a tropical smoothie unfortunately they had ran out of ingredients for the berry version. Both were served in plastic cups with paper straws. Whilst they did taste very nice without to many chunks the price was on the high end of what I would pay. Apart from this I was happy with my little stop at the bluebird.
Nice but small café at the quay. Quite new build. Nice staff making good coffee to you. Also something to eat.
I'm so sorry but it was the worst Latte I've ever had, and our granddaughters hot chocolate looked like a large cup of mud.Service: 4/5
The staff at Bluebird Cafe were very friendly and welcoming and they provided a quality service. However, I was disappointed that there was a 50p charge for non-dairy milks. There was also a distinct lack of vegan food options. Also the disposable cups in which the coffee was served in which we ordered to ‘stay in’ appeared to be made of paper, but there was a label on them stating ‘plastic in product’.
Had a nice cup of tea but scone a bit too crumbly for me!Food: 3/5
