Went for dinner last night, was very disappointed by the lack of service and quality of food. Waited more that. 35 minutes for our food to arrive. Let’s say it was a busy night, so it’s understandable. Still waiting for the onion rings my friend ordered and paid for. My chicken burger was so disappointing. Tiniest slice of tomato, lettuce and mayo ever seen, bun overcooked.
Had a really good lunch mid-week with friends. The service was very good and staff courteous and very accommodating. We sat outside as had the dog with us and the staff brought water for him. It was good value for money and food was good. We took advantage of the special offer lunch menu. The food was fresh and good quality. Will definitely try the evening menu as well. O
Terrible, food was awful. Microwave frozen food and the meat was inedible. It disintegrated in your mouth. I was looking forward to this meal and at £9.79 I expected better. It obviously just comes as you see it portioned, and just warmed up on a plate. I've honestly had better frozen TV dinners. It's not the fault of the staff or the kitchen workers to be honest, but how they can say they have a chef beggers belief. There is no way any of that food was cooked there, it was simply reheated. I can't think of anything nice to say about it apart from it was dealt with and I was given a full refund. The poor member of staff didn't even disagree with me, it's not fair that they have to serve this tripe. I don't know where in the board room meeting did they agree that this is acceptable food to feed the paying public. I'll never visit an Ember Inns again, the franchises are torturing our tastebuds and it's a disgrace. **This review wasn't a pop at the chef, more that I feel sorry for a chef that doesn't actually get to cook the food**
Just had a drink. It was very busy as I was with a retirement party. Drinks are not cheap same as in other pubs. Wheelchairs easily moves around. Not sure about disabled toilets. The food looked good as it passed by us.
Not the first time I've visited BUT the first time in quite a few years... it's lovely... comfortable seating, warm and cosy which is a feat for such a huge place. The welcome and service from the staff was equally warm and so very helpful. The food ordered was very good and was delivered quickly...I can't fault this place and I'll definitely be going back soon
Always get a good meal here and it is one of our regular places to visit.
It's a nice pub for a quiet drink..... but i can't recommend the food. The £12 steak & guiness pie I hacksawed through had clearly been microwaved / cremated from frozen. Waitress was polite but could clearly see the food was inedible. So no, I wouldn't eat there again.
Went here with family on a Sunday. We ordered 4 turkey dinners and a scampi meal We waited an hour and the pub didn't look particularly busy Then two of the meals arrived without cutlery ....another wait When the other meals came so did the cutlery Also seemed a bit strange that the turkey dinners were served with runner beans and carrots both of which were hard and undercooked....not al dente Add to that parsnips which were stringy and inedible Anyway won't be visiting again.
Lovely homley place. Staff great. Dissapointed as a vegetarian in regard to the choice of food. I went for the fixed price I would have had the burger but I can't eat mushrooms so that was not an option. I had soup which was just warm!! and a desert . It's such a a shame veggy food does not compare with meat eaters such as veggy pie or lentil Shepshed pie. Veggy casserole with a suet top. They are so cheap to make and vegetarians do like hearty food too.
Poor service with a party of about 20 people in a group. Haphazard delivery of main and sweet courses so some almost finishing food before others received theirs. I had sirloin steak and apart from the onion rings food was tepid. Got the impression the plate of food had been stood for quite some time before reaching the table.
