It's alright, but our food took far too long to come out. It was fine, but no more than that. The kids meals are great value, but unless you order from the 2 for £9.50 menu, the rest of the options are overpriced for what you get. From ordering at 1720, we were over 90 minutes getting through mains and tiny kids deserts... after having asked twice for them. Again, it's alright as a local boozer, but we won't be rushing back for food. Kid-friendliness: The kids were brought paper crowns to decorate with crayons, and the kids meals are great value
I'm from out of town and visited the National for dinner with my friends who live local. It was a Friday afternoon and was extremely busy. Staff however were friendly and on it I must say. The Chef brought our meals to the table as they were that busy which I thought was a nice touch. We even had sweets which again didn't take long. Great food and atmosphere. Definitely recommend the double hunters.
The steak i ordered wasn't cooked to preference. They gladly replaced however when the plate returned the chips literally tasted like cardboard. Steak was nice. The waitress with red hair was friendly and apologetic
Love The National, we attend every week because the staff and Landlord are very friendly and welcoming. This has now become our "Local", highly recommend to anyone. Keep up the good work Stu and Team.
Lovely local pub serving great food , plenty of choice on their menu . Service is good and staff are polite and cutious. Clean and friendly atmosphere with a large area for seating to spend quality time with family and friends. A good idea to pre book a table in your favorite spot. We enjoyed a lovely meal here today , all was well presented and tasted lovely , faultless . All staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble . We passed our compliments onto the chef , which we found out was called Dale , will definitely be eating there again . Parking: Car park was easy accessible, and was clean and tidy .
Great pub with good priced beer, good sized meal portions and staff that are always happy to chat to you and swap stories - especially Stuart and Foxy who never fail to put a smile on your face. Would highly recommend to anyone visiting
The staff are very helpful and polite and the food is really good and hopefully we be coming back soon thanks for your service
Nice place, quite loveley atmosphere, and most of the food is great, however dont go for the steak, as ordered a med rare sirloin, instead got an overcooked shoe sole. As mentioned as long as you dont get the steak you will be fine. Also funny as staff know they messed up and did everything in their power to avoid any contact :D
