Nice little pub with a pool hall upstairs. This pub encourages natural conversation, so no phones or smart devices are allowed out while on the premises.
Used this pub for over 40y when drinking in the Old Town. Not really changed over the years which adds to it's character. Some people don't seem to like it's rules due to the fact all technology use is banned cash only along with a zero tolerance of bad language. But if some people can't refrain from using their phones while having a drink and a conversation it's not the place for them but we like the idea.
Old fashioned boozer, cash only and no tech allowed took the picture and got rebuked in the process. Excellent pint of Sam Smith's though at a more than reasonable price.
A true hidden gem, a true historic pub in hull's Old Town, very cosy with its open fire, traditional ales and spirits, no Internet, no music, no swearing. A great pub to visit and to meet up with friends and family. Spoil yourself and pop in for a pint or two
