Today met the new owners Steve ans his lovely wife. The food was outstanding today. A real improvement to previous meals weve had. And what a really present couple. Definitely recommend. See you both again
Great place, fantastic atmosphere and food. We love the new pool table and darts game, as well as all the live music events. Highly recommend!
The Pub on Victoria Dock has been through a few changes over the years but the latest iteration, The Three Crowns, is a bit of a change but not for the better. Martson's have spent a lot of money transforming the old "Goldcrest" into the new Three Crowns, adding a pool table, outdoor TV area and a new menu but this has come at a cost. The once family friendly, local pub has lost that feel completely. Visiting the pub as a family after the revamp was an interesting experience. When it was the Goldcrest, there was a children's play area both inside and out and now it is more of an adult oriented pub that feels more like it should be located in the town centre than in a family based community. The food we had was good however, having a couple of burgers and a pizza but this is the shame of it. Families would go to the pub after school and maybe stay for a few hours, have drinks and food while the kids enjoyed the play areas. Now they can't even play on the pool table and are not welcome later in the evening. The Three Crowns is worth a short visit for the food as a family, but if you are looking for place for the kids to enjoy themselves as much as you will, you will have to go elsewhere.
Convenient location with an EV charger. Portions are generous with a modern and warm ambience. Has children’s play area .
We were in for dinner a few days ago. I can't rate the staff enough. I have a dairy intolernce, so I am limited to what I can eat. We took advantage of their pizza deal. I was able to get a pepperoni pizza with vegan cheese, and I thoroughly enjoyed every mouthful. Staff were very helpful with dealing with my dietry needs and swapping things out. We followed pizza with a dessert. Staff was unsure as to what had allergens in, so they brought out their allergen list for me so I could pick a suitable desert. The staff were so helpful and eager to help. Their service was and is very much appreciated. Keep up the excellent service
Tried the mega grill, absolutely amazing, I can eat but couldn't finish this one, luckily they did a doggie bag for me to take home to my spaniel.
Booked for Christmas Day here as the food and atmosphere have changed since Steve & Gabby took over and I can say that we were not disappointed at all From walking in we were made very welcome and shown to our table. We had time for a drink before our starters arrived. Three different starters and all hot and presented well and very tasty. After a short wait and time for a drink again we had the main course - traditional turkey and trimmings and again well presented and hot. Impressed !! Dessert wasn’t to be missed out and these were also of a high standard Steve and his team were most attentive throughout - given they were short on staff everyone did a fantastic job and if we could we would book now for next year!! Well done to Steve, Gabby and the team including all of those working behind the scenes we didn’t see.
Great hospitality and friendly service. Food and ales are top drawer Only negative is it's a bit pricey
Great pub and lovely food. Wedding party we attended were sat in the bay window at the front, could do with some shade/curtains or windows to open. Got really hot on a nice summers day. Great food though.
Had a couple of meals there recently and I can say that this a wonderful place to dine. Staff are super friendly and very helpful, we booked to have our Christmas dinner there despite the long delay we eventually got seated and it was a wonderful 3 course meal at a very reasonable price. Would recommend thier Roast beef Sunday lunch.
