Beautiful hotel situated in the centre of the historic town of Amesbury. Located just a short distance from Stonehenge and all other local attractions.

Story

17th Century Coaching Inn, boasting 21 individually styled en-suites rooms, one of which is our Beatles Suite were the fab four (The Beatles) stayed while filming ‘Help’ on Salisbury Plain.

We are the closest hotel to the Stonehenge ancient monument and are located in Amesbury, the oldest UK settlement - just a 10 minute drive from the medieval city of Salisbury and a 45 minute train journey from London.

The Hotel has a beautifully appointed restaurant specialising in Thai Cuisine, traditional bar with a welcoming open fire - serving a wide selection of real ales alongside an extensive wine list.

Our large rose garden is open year round and the hotel has played host to a number of memorable occasions, including the filming of the the british TV series 'Miss Marple'.

We offer a variety of function areas for hire, including a marquee and can cater for events up to 200 people.

There is no elevator but only one flight of stairs.  Room was clean and comfortable and we even had a floor fan.  The garden was beautiful.  There is a Thai restaurant in the hotel but we chose to eat at a local pub.  No parking here but you can pay to park just across the street.  They have an amazing breakfast included in the room price.  Full English breakfast or several other choices.  Would stay there again.

Have been here twice now.For us the bonus is they take dogs.It's an old fashioned hotel that some would say has seen better days but the rooms are big,the bath is big(there is also a shower).The staff could not be more helpful.Our room had it's small anomalies,such as a piece of wood to hold the window open!However,the beds are very comfortable,the bar has an open fire , the garden has a lovely fountain and the breakfast is 1st class.This hotel is probably not for everyone but if you are willing to take it for what it is I'm sure that you will have a good stay.There aren't many hotels like this left and we love it!

Clean and tidy at a very reasonable rate. Staff were friendly and helpful. Would use again when visiting this part of the country.

Came here for a Thai Food lunch with our group. Waiting staff was quite impatient. 
My husband asked for some cut fresh chillies twice (once at beginning of service, and 2nd time when main course was being served), and one of the staff told him quite begrudgingly that the chef was too busy pushing foods out so he couldn't accommodate our request. We understand it took time to serve our large group and we'd be totally ok not getting our cut chillies, but the way the staff responded left a bitter taste, just feel she could've been a bit nicer.
Food was good though, and the hotel looks quite nice.

We went for dinner. Had a selection of delicious starters and mains. Really impressed with the quality of the food. Service was a little bit slow but it wasn't too bigger an issue. Servers were very friendly. Lovely atmosphere.
