Lovely place to visit, big manor house with rooms in the attached "west wing". The rooms were comfortable and functional however a big criticism was the walls are very thin. You can hear everything from your neighbouring rooms. The rooms are in mirror images of each other so therefore the bed of your neighbouring room is against the same wall. If you have a snorer as a neighbour and yourself a light sleep then you may have an uncomfortable night. I could hear every grunt from my colleague next door. Another criticism is you're not allowed to walk around all the grounds. Which is a shame because it's gorgeous to look at. I didn't realise this until the last night and nothing was said to me but this may have been down to luck. Also there is only 1 place to eat (a very nice curry house to be fair) without requiring a car which means for the solo traveller a drink may be out of the question when there are some lovely country pubs within a 10 mile boundary. This being said I liked the place very much and the breakfast lovely and freshly made to order by the lady of the manor who was a lovely lady however I don't believe the overall price matched my expectation on the overall package which gives this a 4 star rating.

Great place for a quiet retreat with friends. The owners were great and gave us the privacy to enjoy the place at our leisure. Couldn't recommended more :)
