We had a really good night here. The parking available is great, they were very accommodating to our special requests. We requested a second duvet and they brought another big one. That made for quite a lot of duvet in the bed but it was extremely cozy. The bathroom threw me for a bit of a loop. We had a room where you had to go down stairs inside bathroom. It was generally clean and inviting tho. They had glutenfree options for breakfast, something we anticipated would be a bit tricky.nOverall I really recommend it.
We met up with a club from Taunton and had a fantastic ukulele jamming session in the bar area. Super day, lovely staff. The supplied buffet was superb. Some stayed the night and commented on the super rooms, attentive staff. The hotel was warm and very clean. Good beer range and prices. I highly recommend this hotel.
This is one of the best hotels we've had the pleasure of staying in. We arrived early after a long bike ride and the staff were outstandingly welcoming and helpful. Our room was INCREDIBLE -- characterful, spacious, stylish, functional, and comfortable. We could not ask for more. The full English and continental breakfast was included. It was delicious, with vegetarian options. Thank you to everyone at The George for facilitating such a memorable stay in this beautiful village.
Deceptively unassuming from outside. Simply stunning hotel with a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and is very tastefully furnished. We only had lunch here. Excellent food.
Such a great place to stay if you are visiting Stonehenge and other sites like Avebury. I really enjoyed the night I spent at the George Hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive.nnThe building had been recently refurbished- the decor was really fresh, modern and cosy with the traditional parts of the building preserved. It would be lovely cosying up here in the winter with the fire roaring in the bar area.nnThe single room I stayed in was lovely, with private bathroom with a bath. Good tea and coffee making facilities and nicely decorated. The radio on when I arrived and the hand written welcome note from housekeeping was a very nice touch.nnI had a Sunday roast in the evening and the breakfast in the morning was great fuel for the adventure ahead. Would really recommend this hotel!
