This place is excellent in every way. I used this place to stay overnight whilst walking the Hadrian's Wall National Trail and it delivered. It has dog-friendly rooms with air con and the Hazy IPA they have on is delicious. In the morning, they served an excellent breakfast spread which is included in the accommodation price. Perfect. It is a little off the trail, so I organised a local taxi to take me back to the trail early in the morning, which the staff sorted me out with recommations. Lovely place, lovely people, and the oldest pub in Northumberland?? 1569 if I remember rightly.
Had Sunday lunch at The Angel. Absolutely delicious! There were four of us, including a vegetarian. All ordered different meals and not a speck left on any plate! Great value, friendly atmosphere and excellent service. All in one of the most charming villages in England. We'll definitely be back!
Fabulous 3 course Xmas lunch for 4 of us + overnight stay in The Apartmentnand a cooked breakfast! Gorgeous food, atmosphere, friendly staff & accommodation. Definitely coming back! Thanks SO much!! We were well looked after! Oh and the mulled wine !! Superb!
We had a fantastic stay at The Swan. The manager was incredibly helpful in resolving a booking issue caused by a third-party error and went above and beyond to ensure everything was sorted out smoothly.nnWe also dined in the restaurant during our stay, and the food was excellent – the pie of the day was particularly delicious!nnThe combination of outstanding service, comfortable accommodation, and great food made for a wonderful experience. We would definitely recommend The Swan and look forward to visiting again.
The location was good however that is the only good thing I can say about this hotel unfortunately. The toilet seat in the bath room did not fit properly, the floor tiles were cracked along with the bath panel. When looking for more toilet roll under the bathroom sink we found a tub catching water as it was leaking. The breakfast arrived cold and not very nice. Will not be returning.
