Abbey House Hotel & Gardens

Good location away from the town but not too far. Didn't stay as attended a conference. Quite rich lunch menu from lite options to heavy three courses. Food was great, served as requested. Friendly and helpful staff. Felt a bit crowded as the reception or restaurant is not huge but it makes the place feel cozy.

I've just returned from a break at Abbey House Hotel. Had a great stay. Loads cheaper thank staying in the Lake District but just a stones-throw from the lakes, so a no brainer really and glad I chose to stay here instead. Staff were kind and attentive, the food from their Oscars Restaurant was incredible and slept like a log. Couldn't really have asked for more. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel , rooms spacious , immaculate ,food a dream , staff extremely nice , very helpful , very attentive , totally impressed , here for a couple of days so will continue with this review until I leave Bed very comfy and warm , bathroom has underfloor heating , shower hot but bath water only warm . Day 2 Just had a wonderful breakfast from breakfast buffet plenty on offer from full breakfast to continental or you can have made to order if you prefer ,will try tom , to be continued .Had a walk to Furness Abbey which can be got to via back of hotel less than 5 min walk , be aware of speeding cars . saw a lovely frozen fountain a reminder of the Beast from the East .Walked into Barrow , a straight rd there .Went to the Dock Museum was closed didn't realise it only opened at 11 . Day 3 Had porridge for breakfast , freshly prepared , nicest porridge tasted in a long while , staff exceptionally nice and showed interest in where you have been , advised other places to go too , unfortunately i could not follow these as I had a train to catch , Sum up of Abbey House , a cracking hotel and staff to be proud of .

Attended for a friend's wedding and stayed over for 1 night. We'll presented room, very comfortable bed. Staff friendly and efficient when dealing with lots of guests. Bars had a decent selection of drinks (no ales though). Set meal for the wedding dinner was good. Can't comment on the location for tourists but it was fairly easily accessible from motorways.

I filmed a friend's wedding here and the venue is just stunning. The staff couldn't do enough for you... the grounds and rooms are gorgeous
