Ideal location, nice selection of rooms. Gym is not 24/7 despite what they say. Laundry room closes after 8pm which is not ideal as other uni accom is 24/7 laundry and free. Laundry is not free here. Had friends complain about mice but doesn’t seem too much of an issue in all flats. Could do with more heating especially in the study spaces it’s freezing with either no air or cold air being pumped out. Postal system is good. Fast and free reliable Wi-Fi. Feels safe to live here. Not much ventilation in rooms so rooms can get stuffy.
The room and facilities provided are good. The staff are unfriendly, and cannot accept their own mistakes. Furthermore, maintenance take ages to come and fix things. For instance, my heater, toilet and window was broken since i moved in. It took them approximately 3 months to fix it, and my window + toilet is still broken bear in mind that its winter at the time I'm writing this so the room can be freezing. The walls are reasonably soundproof, however the windows are not, you can hear the cars going by at night. So going by the amount of money i pay and the service i received, i am quite disappointed. I advice that you find somewhere else to stay. Update: its been at least 7 months since my window is broken, they still haven't come and fix it. They came into my room 5 times, each time promising to replace it, but they have not done anything. Also, now that it is summer time, the room gets incredibly hot, the record in my room so far is 38 degrees at 9pm at night, which makes sleeping impossible. So please please please do not come here, I do not want you to suffer! Also, please note that there is a response from the IQ team under my review, do not be fooled! They did not do anything even though I have contacted them many times in the past, it is probably just a part of their PR stunt.
The reception is absolutely careless about the Parcels received for the residents, the Royal mail shows that my Uniridier Bus Pass for the year was delivered to them, and they are telling me they signed for it without checking and they don't have it! The facilities are all restricted and they have no care for the residents!
To put it simply, IQ Wilmslow had literally been the worst place I've lived all my life. Yes the location is decent, but the extortionate price paid is not at all justified. Prepare to lose sleep throughout the term because 1 construction work begins as early as 7:30am in the morning daily and 2 there would be people shouting/blasting music/partying in the courtyard around 1-4am randomly throughout your stay. Complaints regarding noises have been made *multiple* times but never resolved. It is also not until recently the gym opens for a longer period, as previously it closes at 8pm, causing a somewhat crowd in peak hours in a rather tight space. The gym also has little to none equipments only dumbbells, with all the treadmills broken for at least 2 months now. Highly not recommended.
*don't listen to the replies the gym is NOT open 24/7*good location,good social spaces, nice rooms and doubles beds, although super noisy because of ongoing building works meaning you cannot work in your room during the day,and then in the night staff will not tell people in the shared courtyard spaces to be quiet so you also can't sleep in the night. unreliable WiFi, extortionate laundry way more expensive than other accommodations despite the steep rent staff are super friendly but often seem clueless . enjoyed living here but the price is way too high especially considering laundry prices and building works. also don't be fooled by the gym its tiny, closes at 8 and all the treadmills have been broken for weeks . laundry is not 24 hours which makes it unreliable as there is no clarity over when it actually closes daily.
Without a doubt the worst place I have ever stayed. There’s constantly people making unreasonable amounts of noise in shared spaces like the courtyard and management and security do nothing about it. There’s a mouse problem in multiple flats including mine. My extractor fan lets cigarette smoke from other peoples rooms into my bathroom. The hot water is unreliable. Collecting parcels is a hassle and staff sometimes just aren’t bothered enough to properly look for your parcels despite emailing you to say it’s at the desk. The courtyard is always covered in rubbish after a windy night. It costs about £5 to do one load of laundry. This place is awful and overpriced. Save your money and go somewhere else.

The accommodation it’s self is fine however there is extremely loud building work from 8am every morning this is particularly an issue for ground floor flats. This took place even during the exam period, there is also mice in the kitchen and other general maintenance issues that when reported still take up to a week to be sorted.
As a UoM student, the location is great. The bus stop just in front of the entrance, shops as well - you will always feel safe getting back home on your own! Common spaces are nice and welcoming, gym also very convenient although there are absolutely no machines for legs but only machines for the upper body!!. Having said that, the rooms and the accommodation as a whole are “cheap”. I live on the 7th floor and every night there is extreme noise of the wind I.e., whistling and doors banging. It is as if the windows and walls are super thin, cold comes in too. Considering how expensive the accommodation is, I would expect at least to live in more robust building, resistant to and appropriate for the Mancunian weather. Not to mention that the floor vibrates every time trucks enter the compound as if there is an earthquake. Also, my window is dirty?? I don’t know whether it’s dirt or very bad quality which has deteriorated over the months and years, but I can’t properly see through it I made several complaints at the beginning of the year but nothing was fixed. As soon as I get out of the elevator, it consistently smells alcohol and the floors are sticky. I would have liked a more enhanced cleaning service, in and out of the flats - again considering the amounts of money we are paying there are no cleaning services in the flats.
This is without a doubt one of the best accomodations in Manchester. The staff really care about the wellbeing of their tennants and the facilities room, gym are incredible. It's slightly on the pricer side for a decent room but it's the perfect example of "you pay for what you get". Any issues I had with my room were resolved almost immediately. I chose to write this review because I really enjoyed my stay here as an undergrad student and the negative reviews I've seen don't reflect the experience I've had here in the slightest.
