A cinema at a greatly convenient location. Just a few minutes' walk from Deansgate tram stop/train station. Although a bit dated, it is spacious and clean.
Really good bundles on snacks and drinks before the film. Never usually overly busy when we go here which absolutely improves the experience as sometimes you feel like you have the screen to yourselves. We’ve seen 6 movies here so far, it’s everything you’d expect out of a cinema really. There’s never been any issues with any of the screenings, the films are always in excellent quality. The seats are looking a little bit old but they’re still always comfortable and functional. My partner and I came to see Don’t You Worry Darling last Sunday 2nd, and we’re served by a lady at the counter who was incredibly polite and smiley! It’s not exactly The Empire Cinema but it’s definitely ticked all of our boxes service and quality wise! We even ended up buying limitless cards
Great selection of horror films over Halloween we went to see The Thing 40th Anniversary and at an excellent rate too. However, the seating in the cinema was worn-out and in need of serious repair - and nowhere near as comfortable as other venues.
Do not come to this cinema if you are wanting to be warm this winter!! Went to see black panther:wakanda forever last night and the film was brilliant but that was the only thing that was! The staff on the tills seem to the think they had all the time in the world there wasn’t a big queue but I expected to be served quicker than I was! Despite 3 or 4 members of staff manning the desk at the top of the escalator, not really doing anything. The worst thing of the evening was the cinema was freezing cold, I was wearing a large winter jacket and still struggled to get warm! Not a pleasant experience, I couldn’t wait for the film to finish just to warm up on the walk home.
The actual cinema itself is great been going here for over 15 years now, the only thing that let's it down is the ridiculous parking fees! Outrages, used to be able to stamp your car parking ticket at the cinema & it would cost you £2, now for some reason you can't do that & it cost £14-15 to park, Trafford Centre next time.
Absolutely shocking food prices i got one medium fanta which is less then a 1.5 litre bottle and two trays of nachos with cheese and it cost me £19.57 I'll never buy food or drink from here again. The seats are so worn and grubby it should have had a makeover by now its long overdue.
Very bad projection quality. Apart from the big screens Screen 1, 2,4 as far as I know, the rest small screens doesn't cater well to Asian movies. Even the ad's and trailers were so dull and also the movie don't occupy the entire screen. It has the black gaps on the top and bottom of the film like how we get in Amazon Prime, Netflix.. definitely they need to check the movie wrt sound, picture quality before screening it.
Very overpriced and not comfy seats. Have a deal with the car park where it’s meant to be £2 but i charged £15 as the QR code does not read on the machine. Raised this with the manager and he told me the car park is a different company, didn’t care in the slightest. Confusing and frustrating. Happy to see it’s being knocked down in the news. Will be taking my business to Vue.
It wasn't the film I went to see that I didn't like - it was trying to pay the car parking after leaving. I'm not used to the palaver of finding out that I have to set up an online account for a NCP Park pass and going to all the trouble of putting in my bank details. What happened to just paying at an insitu machine on your way out for a day out. I now have an app that I'm not going to use on a regular basis.
A combination of cleanliness, decent prices, a great variety of snacks and drinks with a great selection of films with comfy seats, makes this cinema a fabulous choice for viewings.
