Took my 10 year old daughter to the showing of SING followed by a musical workshop..... fantastic value. Daughter cannot wait to go back to another event. Definitely a hidden gem, while there took some time to look at their program.. some really good things organised, so I will be back. Amazing what is on your doorstep.

Five stars for keeping this old classic cinema going when most people will be streaming or going to the big multiplex. Beautiful art deco building. Watching a movie here brings back great memories of when cinemas had a proper red velvet curtain and a human projectionist. The screens aren't the biggest you'll ever see but it's the perfect setting for an old classic movie or something low key that doesn't require an imax to enhance the viewing. Cinephiles should check out their events guide as there is so much interesting stuff and you may finally get a chance to see that old movie on the big screen or one of your favourite childhood kids movies again in a Saturday matinee.

Giving this cinema a 3 rateing because of the uncomfortable seatin as a disabled person these are very unpleasant and can get a very numb butt and legs and hard to get up from .the dirt on seats is also a issue the shop is very dear witch is where they get the profits but for 4 pound for a uncomfortable seat and dirt and not good sound from films it's overpriced it's OK if your on a budget as a family if you live local maybe a update of seating and carpet etc would be a great cinema because of the history of it staff are friendly may I add so not all bad I suppose

I think I'm right in saying that the Strand arts centre is the only independent cinema still operating in Belfast. Multi cinema screens. Very welcoming and fab choice of movies. Also live performances.

Nice little venue, old school. I got to take my mum to go see the "original" Friday the 13th. We got to meet the director Sean Cunningham. Amazing experience.
