Brilliant local community building with so much to offer. Alongside brilliant theatre in various forms available throughout the year, Storyhouse also has an incredible library with lots of study space, a restaurant/bar with good food, and a cinema with mainstream and more indie titles. Before Storyhouse arrived in Chester, its absence was painfully felt. Since its arrival, it has boosted Chester’s cultural vibrancy tenfold. The city is so much richer and more prosperous because with Storyhouse at its heart. How lucky we are to have it!

As many others have said, Chester is so lucky to have storyhouse! A cinema, library, theatre, cafe, study space all in one. The atmosphere here is really lovely and so welcoming from staff. As a student, this is one of the best places to study in town. Food, coffee & cakes also delish. Definitely recommend a visit if you’re in Chester.
I photographed a wedding at Storyhouse back in April and WOW! What a place. The staff were incredible at making Becky & John's wedding day extra special. The couple had quite an alternative day, featuring a humanist ceremony in the theatre space, stormtroopers, and a Mario Kart tournament on the big screen. They then had the party in the same room in with a live band in the evening. Everything ran smoothly, and the staff could not have been more helpful. I would highly recommend this place for a non-traditional wedding celebration. The building is also an amazing community space, with theatre, library, cinema, cafe and more.... and I can't wait to come back.nnI also enjoyed a coffee and cake in the cafe - the vegan options were fantastic. Fabulosa big space. I was just visiting Chester for the day and called into the tourist info point for local info. Just asked them where the nearest public toilets were. They said the Storyhouse. Wow, a huge, really welcoming space, really nice coffee, friendly staff, cinema, theatre, and library all in one - and open until 11pm! Chester is lucky to have such a great place. Definitely pop in for lunch, a coffee, or just a read if you're visiting the city. Recommended!
