This is an absolutely lovely place to visit. There are two ways of getting there. As you walk up stock Ghyll lane, you will see a sign asking you to follow a muddy path. The route is easy to follow with red arrows pointing the way. It's a small trek here and not recommended if you have very young children though I did do it with my 2 year old. At the top you find there's a much more easier route that's accessible too for almost everyone from further up the lane. All in all, an easy walk from the town centre.

Lovely little spot hidden behind the center of ambleside! There's a little walk up some back roads then another small walk through the woods to see the waterfall. It's a bit rocky so go carefully! You can even walk across a bridge right at the top.

Water fall is not exactly Niagara but it's a nice feature to view. Ground was muddy but easy to cover for most. Doesn't take long to walk to the top of the fall and back so if that's the only place you're walking too don't expect it to be too long. Located right on the edge of Ambleside

Nice walk just out of the town centre. Some parts may be difficult. Little muddy/slippy on the day we went. Best to go on a fine day after its been raining. Good vantage points for photos. I need to go back with a propper camera and tripod.

A nice 10 to 15 walk up to the waterfall from the centre. Lovely little waterfall. Very picturesque. If taking little one please be careful. Not really suitable for prams.
