We had a lovely stay. Evening meals were a little bland but overall the service and facilities are excellent. 2022 and there are no evening meals at present, due to the shortage of chefs. Some snacks available in the evening though, sharing platters. Still a wonderful resource for JL Partners.

Second visit in November. Same partners working as before, all brilliant, like going home! This hotel is just so warm and welcoming and friendly. We just love it and of course the area around is fabulous for obvious walking or just pottering. We have already booked again for April to take a guest and a week in September...such a wonderful relaxing place, we feel very lucky as Partners to be able to stay here, it is top notch.
Glad to be a JLP partner with places like this to stay at. First time visit here after 28 years service as I work in the Portsmouth area. A long drive but definitely worth it.Stayed in the hostel for 3 nights. The kitchen area is well set up for each room which has fridge/freezer microwave toaster kettle. Already booked a 7 nights stay next year. Fantastic prices and service. My 7yo daughter loved playing table tennis & table football. Go to Grasmere to the famous gingerbread shop which is only 5 miles away, you will have to wait but it’s worth it. Rydal Caves are nearby,amazing to see but a trek
If you’re lucky enough to be a current employee Partner of the John Lewis Partnership, this place is the perfect place to enjoy the Lakes.

We had a lovely short break here, during covid regulations. The social distancing and organisation within the hotel was spot on and we felt very safe. The staff were exceptionally good and most welcoming. We hope to visiting again soon.
As a partner I loved coming here for breaks. Individually I brought both my kids and my Border Collie Who slept in the Estate car to this delightful hotel. It's a shame that I had to leave JL and not be able to use this very friendly place with amazing walks, scenery, staff, dining and restaurant, again. Truly miss it and wish all that stay there a happy vacation in this very hospitable place.
