A beautiful garden away from the crowds. We enjoyed exploring but found it to be a bit difficult to get around with it being quite steep. There are no arrows to guide you and we felt a bit nervous of getting lost.
Quite a steep walk, but really picturesque. Definitely worth a visit.
Beautiful even though today it was so wet and slippery...wonderful trees and fungi lots of conkers and ground growth. Visited many years ago in a may when all the rhododendrons are out..truly stunning
What a lovely place. Beautiful gardens in the forest. Bit hidden from main road but lovely even in this time in the year. Perfect for walk picnic etc
A nice walk around gardens with fabulous autumnal colours everywhere you look. Can be quite damp under foot though so bring your boots. If you're driving egress on to the main road is tricky due to blind spots.
Not much in the gardens. People mainly use it to park their cars and to access Ambleside pier. But the walk up Stagshaw gardens is good. It is quite steep. There is one waterfalls which is not too bad. The views of the lake and mountains from the viewpoint is really good.
A really nice circular walk with amazing views from the adjoining routes up the hillside.
Lovely little garden, great for a short walk. Dog friendly!
Beautiful little gem hidden up a narrow road. Access to woods and the hills from here. Car parking is free and no entry charges.
Great spot. Paired with a walk through the 'big trees' and Skelghyll woods it makes for a good couple of hours.
