I called for an face to face appointment yesterday afternoon. Got one for later in the day. Unfortunately I didn't get the name of the female doctor that I saw. She diagnosed my problem and gave me advice. I also spoke to her about my current tablets that I wanted to come off and advised me of the way to do this and she also dealt with another problem. She was pleasant and didn't seem to have any problem with me asking about a few problems rather than just the one. . Very good service. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
One doctor in particular is an absolute joke. Brought my 3 boys this week for appointments for the same thing all the same symptoms the first two doctors I saw for my 2 eldest boys who are 3 and 4 were brilliant and also gave antibioticsthey’ve picked up already. This one doctor I saw today for my 1 year old was awful said nothing wrong with him at all. Pointed at my 2 other boys and said I don’t believe they had it either strep a. All 3 of my boys have done nothing but sleep 1 being 17 hours straight!! every symptom of strep a. This isn’t the first time we’ve had problems with this doctor!! I can’t remember his name but avoid this surgery.
How utterly disappointing. I have been with this surgery now for probably around 2 years and I have never once been able to get through to their appointment booking line... The appointment booking process is completely useless. I work full time so ringing in at either 8am or 2pm is interfering with my working day especially as it usually takes about half an hour of trying before I give up... What ever happened to the old school scheduling process where you could book an appointment a few days in advance!? I really really cannot express just how terrible this phone line and booking process is! I can't review the rest of the service this surgery gives because its simply not possible for me to get an appointment there!
We have been with this Practice since we moved 7 years ago. With the new automated booking system we have never had an issue getting an appointment within 24 hours and often a face to face within 48. A phone call can save so much time where a ‘face to face’ is not needed. I know that was not the case previously and GP shortage was an issue. I have had referrals for specialist investigations where cancer was a possible diagnosis made to Queens Burton and the results back within 13 days from first speaking to the GP, having a ‘face to face’, to getting the all clear. This included specialist scans. Other members have had Haematology and Cardiac referrals that have been made and telephone calls to book appointments within 24 hours. The Receptionist staff are pleasant and helpful when treated with respect and politeness. The Pharmacist responds quickly to drug queries and reviews BP and drugs when he says he will. We recently travelled to Africa and the Practice Nurses reviewed our historical paper notes to check what immunisations we needed. They gave us all that we needed and worked around drug unavailability to make sure we were covered and had vaccines in a timely manner. If you have the NHS App it’s worth noting that when you have a tele consultation the time of that appointment shows in the appointment section of the App. Saves you wondering all day when the call will come. Not an exact science, but my appointment yesterday was 1 min before the time in the App. I’ve seen the more negative reviews and people must tell their own stories as they experience them.
Called this morning and was booked in for a face to face with the nurse practitioner for my daughter and she was amazing, she had a lot of time for my daughter and it was so nice to see. Fully checked everything we went for and was so kind. Thankyou.
I had cause to seek medical advice regarding an issue that I had. I had dreaded contacting Stapenhill surgery because of all the negatives that I had heard and read about the surgery. I telephoned today at 7-45 and left my name and telephone number on an automated message and requested a telephone consultation. At 11-45 the surgery telephoned and I had my consultation which was excellent and a course of antibiotics was prescribed. I was very impressed with the service.
Called today for a face to face appointment was offered one 2 hours later, I was soo impressed with the receptionist, the nurse who saw me and the whole process. Made it easy & simple! Thank you for the great care
I have just joined the practice and can honestly say this is the most friendly professional practice I have ever been to, just a shame that more people who receive excellent service don't go to the trouble of posting a review.
Over last couple of months have been good able to have consultation with GP. Only fault have been receptionists when putting pers riptions of life limited medication to to say you can't have none your a couple of days early.. Pharmacist soon sorted it out. Service getting better. Let's see how I do today
After reading so many unpleasant reviews I decided to write my own fair and honest one. Yes, the wait on the phone and set times to call are frustrating at times, there is room for improvement here, but reception staff have always been professional and friendly to me when I’ve got through. I have had consultations with several GP’s at the practice and all have been very sympathetic to issues, called me back when they said they would and/or invited me into the surgery when needed. My most recent experience was initially negative as I was told that no appointment was available for a week. I explained the nature of my issue and the receptionist immediately arranged for an emergency consultation, which was, I thought, appropriate and fair. After speaking to Dr Tayyab my prescription and a fit note were arranged with minimal fuss. I did not feel the call was rushed at all and Dr Tayyab was warm and genuine. This surgery is the only one serving the community I live in and I imagine they are under huge pressure. The people who work here are human beings just like the patients they serve. Thank you.
