Quirky and quaint and so lovely! Everything, from the low ceilings and beautiful beams throughout, the warm welcome on what was clearly a busy evening, to the lovely staff who checked on us during our meal which was absolutely delicious.nWe had a satay chicken starter, for mains I had the sea bass and my friend had the steak. We were both impressed by the quality and presentation of the food. Everything was fresh and tasted amazing!nThis was out first visit here and it was to celebrate a special moment and I am so glad I chose Stag & Hounds, it was the perfect place.
Went here for lunch with a friend - the food was excellent and the service was absolutely spot on. Caters well for vegetarians, too. We both had salads I had the halloumi and she had the duck and we both commented that there had been no scrimping on ingredients, and they were well dressed, filling and super tasty. I’ll definitely be back!
First time visiting here on Saturday. I’m gluten free but also have other intolerances, so it makes it hard where to go and eat. I was blown away.nnI had the pan fried Salmon fillet with crushed new potatoes, samphire, chorizo etc. Presentation was on point, it was piping hot so could tell it hadn’t been sat there, the meal was full of flavour!! I could have had a second portion lol. nnThey assured me the food is cooked in a separate area/fryer so cross contamination was avoided. The service from the staff was lovely, plates etc cleared sway swiftly. Start to finish was just great.nnThe menu is great, there is dishes labelled GF or ones that can be made gluten free.nnEnjoyed a black Italian liqueur coffee for after. The mix with disaronno was fab! I can’t have cows milk so I left the milk/cream.nnAlternative milk available oatly not gluten free.nnHIGHLY RECOMMEND!! I’ll definitely be going back.nnThank you to all the staff and mostly the chef.

Excellent pub! Delicious food, friendly and attentive service, and comfortable decor and seating. We ordered chicken supreme, Sunday roast pork, and the lemon pie. Everything was very fresh, tasty, and cooked perfectly. Excellent service all around, particularly from Jaida. Definitely an above average pub meal, very happy with it and will visit again.
