I used Springhill Library as a child over 6 decades ago. I visited today , a trip down memory lane. Many thanks to the gentleman who allowed me to stand and look and remember with my elder sister as the library is currently closed.The books shelves full, the original lighting over each bookcase and the wonderful smell of books. Long may this building introduce children to books and invite adults to read to their hearts content, relieving the stress of today's life and times. Every community deserves access to a free library.
Couldn't locate the history facts but I assume that this building has been a Church in the far past! Might be owing to small number of worshippers pouring in, the administration preferred to use most of the building for commercial use where presently TESCO is working! The front head corner appears to have been saved & converted into Spring Hill Lubrary!
Very small. Hours could be greatly extended. Staff are helpful but as it's so small it's very hard to do private work without being easily distracted by someone walking behind you. Limited children's space it's about the size of a water closet and even fewer computers. Would be great if they could extend hours.
When I went in they gave me 40min to print .The computer was running slow and the printer was playing up so the process to 10 times slower. My session finished before I finish printing. When I told them they said...sorry due to covid u cannot have any more time. I explained that I was printing paper work for travel covid paper work. The guy said sorry your session is over.
when are you opening back up?
How are members of the public who work supposed to use the library around these opening times? I'm sure there are lots of people happy to work I'll 8pm for example.
My childhood memories of spring I’ll library fill me with joy . Populate our libraries. Build communities there. Have conversations and laugh, bring potluck parties back .
My favorite library in the world friendly and help staff and it's a beautiful building with amazing architecture
Some of the staff are so rude.
