I recently visited Speke Hall and had an amazing experience. The Tudor architecture and beautifully maintained grounds are stunning. The volunteer room guidrs were informative and brought the hall's rich history to life. The gardens are serene and perfect for a leisurely stroll. The cafe provided delicious food, and the staff were friendly and welcoming. Speke Hall is a hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone interested in history or looking for a picturesque day out. Highly recommended!
Wonderful National Trust Property that is well worth a visit. Easy, accessible parking and great facilities on site, along with a beautiful garden to explore. The house is without doubt one of the most beautiful in the National Trust portfolio. If you're in the area it's well worth a visit. The Hall is within a very short distance of John Lennon Airport so it's worth noting you will hear some air traffic noise when on site, but it's not a problem. Highly recommend a visit.
Went here to see the hall. It's a beautiful place. The gardens are well maintained and are lovely . The kitchen garden is a must see and the bee hives. The hall itself is beautifully kept and the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. There are play areas for the children, a maze, the bluebell area has a wild wood for the kids too. You can take dogs and there are facilities on site. Well worth a visit
What a fascinating, beautiful place! Such detailed information available round the house, paints a clear picture of how the building was made and used. The gardens are stunning, and I loved that so much of the forest has been left. Café had a good choice of freshly made foods, and the ice cream went down a treat
Really lovely place to visit with the family, longer walks if you want but we just stayed close to the hall for our first visit. The cafe looked nice, there was some locally produced ice cream. The activity trail is quite short perfect for little ines with lots to see and do on the way. There is a very well constructed Maze and a few little park areas. The staff in the hall were very knowledgeable and approachable. We will definitely visit again
Situated next to Liverpools John Lennon Airport this is a little gem away from the city. Beautiful formal gardens, open grass areas suitable for a picnic and small raised wooded area looking out to the River Mersey. The house is lovely to walk through and explore its history. The cafe served more than the normal brown selection found at so many N.Trust properties. We can recommend the spicy chicken, on flat bread with salad.
Beautiful place ,tour guides in each room of the house will tell you the history of the furniture ect, very interesting to hear.plenty of room and seating in the gardens to enjoy a picnic, also a cafe with polite staff serving food and drinksVisited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
Loved it The house is amazing if you like your Tudor history Each room has a guide who will give you information about the house and items in the room I spent ages in there on my own marvelling at the carvings on beds, wallpaper, priests hidey hole etc. The grounds though are hell. Full of screaming kids. Families throwing balls and frisbies. Setting up picnics Just so busy. This was a Sunday and nice weather but for such an historical place it was spoilt for me. The noise was ridiculous wherever you went. Dogs allowed on leads and a cafe and ice cream area. Large car park but very busy The hall was brilliant The gardens hell.
Date of Visit: 30th June 2024. Large gardens, immaculate lawns and hedhes, intetesting old Hall/Mansion building. Play area for kids. Cafe/Restaurant is a bit small, but good food selection, and Cheese n Onion Pasty is delicious. Advance tickets not available. Free entry for National Trust members.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
So much to see and do. Volunteers in the hall are very knowledgeable and spoke brilliantly with our 3 children, explaining the history. Great play areas for the children, lovely trails to follow, a maze to get lost in too. A great day out.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
