Extortionate fees, £130 a month and always still a large extra balance to pay at the end of the year. Close is not kept in good condition. Put my flat up for sale and several potential buyers left feedback about the lack of cleanliness in the close. Poor communication, very slow.
Don’t appear to care about customers and communication is very abrupt. After paying charges for 10years, I’m appalled by the level of customer service. Charges continue long after property’s have been sold without any warning or explanation.
Just received an email from a SG employee saying we cannot discuss concerns openly with other residents, snippet below; "Unfortunately, I have been made aware that some homeowners were not only in disagreement with the decision of the majority to give name redacted both a pay rise and a bonus, but have also been openly discussing this at the property with other owners and residents". The above does not apply to me as I am 200 miles from the property, have no contact details for other residents, and I had no issue with the pay rise. However-if you can take residents money but not their criticism, rather than mass email everyone telling them not to discuss something openly as is their every right, you should take the time to discuss the increase in service charge during a time of unprecedented financial hardship for many. If you can take the money you can take the criticism that comes your way again clarifying this open discussion did not apply to myself. Spiers Gumley must be run from North Korea but here you can't expect to censor the people paying your wages. Speaking of wages the caretaker at the Matrix, Cowcaddens Road gets £27,000 p.a. not including bonuses so very much above the market rate. EDIT; I posted quotations from yourselves and it very much does reflect the conversation. Caretakers salary is every bit the 27k I mentioned, fact confirmed by you, and again your response is moaning about online criticism. My two points thus are correct. I would encourage you to look at your Google reviews rating and consider if there is a difference between how you think you treat people and how you think you do. Delusional at best. My workplaces have always been 4+ reviews. Online discussion is "inappropriate" in your eyes but not ours, clearly, and again this isn't North Korea. Who are you to moan about it. I think it is inappropriate you guys NEVER shop, buy, eat, travel with/to, use a 1/2 star rated google service but are fine providing one. Bunch of hypocrites.
Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at Speirs Gumley who have been involved in the management of our property in Glasgow's West End. Megan was our property inspector and did an excellent job, as did everyone else in the team that I've spoken to. Always friendly, and very efficient and professional. I would recommend Speirs Gumley to anyone considering a factor. I honestly cannot fault them. I'm aware that when people are happy with a service they don't often take the time to feed that back so wanted to make sure I did on this occasion!
Speirs Gumley, well what can I say. If you are in the unfortunate position of being factored by them in a new build development then please always check your bills with your neighbours. We did this in Archerway in Carluke, only to find out some were paying more than others. Eventually between everyone the bills evened out after complaints. Their workers, one of them had an accident on my neighbours property, trying to clear the mower out, while the mower was not turned off!....so not sure who trained the young lad. Good job he done it on a property that the owner worked at a hospital! Then to move out and find they only charge you £66 for the privilege of moving out as admin. They were that bad we removed our grass, they left grass up the door, up the walls, so they never done any work on our property for 3 years as I had to clear up after them!..... I question a few invoices, as I checked my camera and no-one visited the development on those days, I could go on. My advise to developers, do it yourself, do not out source to this company.
Dreadful... We pay £90 a month each for this company to manage our block of flats and they are nothing short of useless. Latest issue is that I reported water ingress in September, was away for a period of time and it wasn't until 1st December they managed to get a temporary repair done. We've been asking for a permanent repair for years. They have no accountability and quite frankly don't care if water is pouring through the roof of a property they are paid a huge amount to manage.
There charges go up and up and the service doesn’t seem to improve. Must be spending the money on the stupid portraits for their website.
We've had cigarette ends, litter including full bin bags and sanitary towels strewn across the property for weeks. The close is never cleaned. Several tennants have complained numerous times and nothing is done. Grass is a riot and is never mown. No idea what were paying factors fees for!!
I moved into my tenement flat about 18 months ago and Speirs Gumley were the factors. I've never been impressed with any factors I've dealt with but Kay Hendry is proactive, understanding, provides information when asked and keeps on top of maintenance in the building. I know I probably shouldn't be impressed that they are doing what they are paid by residents to do, but most factors don't seem to bother. So far, I've had no complaints whatsoever and been impressed with Kay's proactiveness. Please keep it up.
I cannot thank Lauren and Suzanne enough for everything they have done for me, for the three years I was renting from them. Communication was excellent, Lauren was always on top of everything that we needed. I could not have asked for a better property manager. They are very thorough which is an excellent thing and very fair with everything and everyone included. If I had to rent again, I would definitely contact Speirs Gumley.
