Not the experience we had hoped for. Let’s start with positive points, it was open and our table was ready. From here is was all down hill. The car park was full of beach walkers, the drinks order took 20 minutes to arrive. The food order took 40 minutes to arrive. The fish and chips stated on the menu that they chips were triple cooked, in fact this was the fish that arrived dark brown, dry and very over cooked. Three of these meals had to be sent back. The replacement meals were fine, but they should have been fine the first time around. We didn’t bother with dessert as some of the party are quite old and probably would have passed away in the time it would have taken for the desserts to be delivered. We did order coffee’s which took 25 minutes to arrive, one was cold on arrival. So, would I recommend this pub/restaurant? A definite no. Would we return? Again no.
From the moment we entered the venue, we were welcomed as if we were returning guests. Great hospitality from hosts James and Emma. Superb food and wine selection. Though being a former beer drinker, there were enough varieties to satisfy any beer drinker in my opinion. The full English breakfast was amazing, as was the tea served in a mini tea pot with in built strainer. Thank you for a first class night.
Food was amazing, staff was amazing and the local ales were amazing.... I recommend the homemade scotch egg for a nibbler...its so tasty. For main I had the steak and tangle foot ale pie, it was packed full of meat and definitely homemade. For pudding I had the sticky toffee pudding and it definitely didn't disappoint. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.
We booked a table but turned up an hour early. We had such a lovely meal and our son loved chatting to the bar staff. We will be back on a sunnier day to explore the cove below and have a pint outside. Limited tables to dine inside so always good to book.
Fantastic pub. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Food was outstanding. We visited on 28/12/22 and enjoyed a late lunch of Fish and Chips, Steak Pie and mash, Vegan burger and delicious desserts. Enjoyed it so much we booked for New Year's day Sunday roast, which was also fabulous. Highly recommend a visit.Service: 5/5
Lovely pub on the coast near Weymouth. Nice to sit inside on a cold day, as well as sitting outside when it's warmer. I didn't eat, but the food looked very good. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area, and it's a good location to head off on a coastal walk - with the benefit of a pint when you return. 5 stars, looking forward to getting back there next time I'm in the area.
What an amazing pub. Food is delicious and decent prices. There is loads of seating both Indoors and out. There is a stunning walk along the coastal path just to the size of the pub. It's great for a walk and then dinner at the pub. I would recommend the Sunday roast.
Food was fantastic, service brilliant and friendliness of the staff was so nice and welcoming. We had a mixture of the nibbles to start, on the latge side so maybe worth sharing, for mains we had the pork belly salad and the sea bass, both were just perfect. We did leave a little room for pudding and a coffee of course. We didn't have a dog with us, but clearly a dog friendly pub as a couple were in the bar. Highly recommend
Beautiful friendly pub! All the staff were friendly! Toilets were lovely and clean.... Doggo friendly. Good value for money. Service was top! Outside was clean and inviting, if had been warmer we would have been sat out, however sat on a lovely comfy sofa and arm chair. And to my delight, they have dairy free option of milk!! Nearby activities: It's a beautiful stop along the jurassic coast. A beach to climb down to not too bad in correct footwear ie yrainers/boots Food & drinks: We only had drinks, the the sizes were brilliant. Massive hot chocolate for ourittle lady and two pot of tea, which we managed to get 4 cups out of. Little side of complimentary fudge, beautiful!
We were a group of 5 who turned up without booking, but managed to get a table. They were fairly busy and while we got the drinks quickly it was a long time between taking our order and getting our food, which they did apologise for, but it would have been better to have kept us in the picture. The fish and chips, sausage and mash, and pork belly and mash were good. However, the seared sea bass on risotto was very over done and that was the most expensive item. So from this experience best to stick to the simpler menu items rather than risk those items that require a bit more finesse.
