Recently refurbished & with a new enthusiastic owner, the Duke Of Albany is now open with a new lease of life including live music and 9 ensuite B&B rooms!
The Duke of Albany was purchased by John Simmance in 2015/2016 after finally giving in to a burning desire to become a publican. John, a plumber originally from London has a real passion for Weymouth and the surrounding Dorset area and has done since he first fell in love with the town back in 1996.
Many family summer holidays were spent at the nearby caravan holiday park before a permanent holiday home was bought to finally put down roots in this beautiful town. Since then, John has spent all his free time in Weymouth and made many friends in the local area due to his passion for dancing and the great outdoors.
John, has spent the last year refurbishing the Duke of Albany (DOA) to give it a new lease of life! John and his family's love for Weymouth and Dorset is highlighted throughout the pub which now offers 9 en-suite double bedrooms as B&B to allow people to visit the area and truly appreciate its beauty. The pub has now got a dance floor with live music planned at weekends so please come along and visit the DOA, as we're sure you will have a good time!
