Beautiful restaurant and the food is great, had the lamb which was delicious. The lime dessert was alright but they could do with more options that don't have milk, I've had better dessert at restaurants, this is where I was let down a bit and felt it could be improved. Definitely go to the bathrooms while you visit.
Amazing experience! Had a quick early morning visit to Sketch and unfortunately, the room I wanted to see was still being prepared to open for later hours however the managing director did not hesitate to give me a tour of the full space and explain in detail the inspiration and history behind each room. I certainly recommend checking Sketch out! Looking forward to visiting for afternoon tea soon!
It may be quite expensive, but it’s always worth it. I booked the afternoon tea for my family and they were enthusiastic! Delicious food and teas, very attentive staff and stunning live music! I had the vegan afternoon tea and it was exquisite… Highly recommended!Food: 5/5
I tried The Gallery at Sketch for dinner with my friends, and I must say it is a visual and culinary delight! The artistic atmosphere is vibrant and unique. The food and service were excellent. My lamb shank was tender, flavourful, and well-presented. Overall, it is a wonderful place for both the eyes and the taste buds. I highly recommend it.
The restaurant's ambiance and service were impeccable but the food didn’t match the cost. The dishes were innovative, but some combinations just didn’t work, lacked depth of flavor aside from overpowering spices. I can say that it felt like we were paying more for the Michelin star restaurant than the actual quality of the meal. If you're seeking a memorable dining experience, you might want to explore other restaurants.
Ate breakfast at the Glade. Decoration and ambience is definitely nice but the food.. My avocado toast tasted nothing but lemon. My daughter didn’t like her dish either. Also, they’re charging “optional 1.25£ for charity”, you have to ask to remove if you don’t want it. Not to mention the 15% service of course..Food: 2/5
Afternoon Tea £80pp - The restaurant has a charming ambiance that feels reminiscent of a whimsical Disneyland setting seems my frd was the only guy in the resto SLS.However, while the atmosphere is delightful, the food leaves much to be desired. The scone, in particular, was quite disappointing, resembling more of a bread in texture than the dense and crumbly treat I expected. I thought that afternoon tea is a quintessentially British experience, yet those offer in Hong Kong tasted so much better to me. On a quirky note, the restroom features an intriguing egg-shaped design, which adds a unique flair to the overall experience. Overall, this venue is worth a visit if you’re seeking a visually appealing spot, but it may not satisfy those in search of exceptional food. My first time at sketch and indeed at a 3-star Michelin restaurant at the Lecture room and Library. Perhaps my expectations were too high but I left wondering why people rate the place so highly; over-priced, underwhelming, and not worth the hype. Everyone talks about the atmosphere and setting, but whilst the room was grand, the detailing is dated and rather tacky. For example, the bathroom not the famous pods bathroom, was covered in plastic “jewels” from the toilet roll holder to super-glued sequins on the soap dispensers which looked more like a children’s art project. My partners chair leg was half-falling off. And for some reason one of the staff wore a typical French maids outfit which I thought was rather crass. For the food, we opted for the tasting menu and wine pairing and were left seriously disappointed. None of the dishes grabbed us nor had any imagination or depth and left us rather underwhelmed and bored. The Grand Dessert was probably the highlight. The wine was fairly good but nothing special. We’ve ate all around the world and had much better food for 1/3 of this price point just under £1,000 total for 2 people, by the way. The service was amazing though, extremely attentive and friendly if not a little over-the-top. The hosts and waiters all knew my name beforehand and that we were celebrating my partners birthday.
My friend and I booked festive afternoon tea. Beautiful place with a nice atmosphere. I liked salty sandwiches and scone with jam and butter, unlimited amount of coffee and tea. But vegan cakes were a bit of a disappointment, as I tried much tastier for a smaller price. Also at the end we got our check where my friend’s glass of champagne wasn’t included in the festive set even though we asked the waiter and he said we don’t need to pay extra. And be ready to pay a 15 % service fee.
Had a great time for afternoon tea. I forgot to mention allergies and they accommodated last minute effortlessly. Such a lovely building with great artwork. We had a guided tour afterwards, would love to go back!
