The most welcoming and friendly staff around! The place is a real community pub and never disappoints. The new renovations have made the place look fantastic, a trendy vibe, great selection of real ales and it's dog friendly! Couldn't ask for a better local!Service: 5/5
I really liked this pub. We were visiting from London for a friend's birthday and the staff were super friendly and accommodating and they have a pretty good selection of drinks. I had a really great cask Neipa. Sadly the kitchen wasn't up and running yet so would be interested to see what that will be like. If I lived local I'd spend a lot of time here as it has a nice vibe about it
A lovely pub, with great service from friendly staff. Didn't try the food, but the they have a good range of real ales and beers, plus a few fancy gins for the wife. Win win. Didn't participate in the meat raffle, but it was enjoyed by those that did. Won't be leaving it too long before going again Service: 5/5
Hired the private function room. Fantastic venue! Large wall-mounted TV, private bar and toilets. Plenty of space for up to 50 people, with comfy chairs and separate tables. Access to outside courtyard for smokers and separate side door to the main road. Parking: No private car park. Streets have parking restrictions.

Popped in for a couple of pints after work This pub has been one of my locals for years, never really used it much as it used to feel really crowded and enclosed with the flags hanging from the ceiling ect. Now it has been revamped and nice and spacious all looks nice and clean, good choice of larger and ales I will start using it more.
Checked out the renovation at the SLOB this weekend, although there were parts which you could tell needed finishing, They’ve done a beautiful job. The real pièce de résistance was shown in the final photo.. a couple ladies left to have a smoke and the bar tender placed these mats on there drinks.. if you know you know.. we love a caring king. #caringking #slob #renovation
The SLOB is a lovely traditional pub with very friendly locals and staff in an open bar format. There's a range of real ales on offer up to 10 pumps from golden beers and IPAs to Porters in addition to kegs, a non-alcoholic range, and of course lagers, ciders, wines and spirits! The pub is now dog-friendly and has been recently refurbished to include a function room at the back open for busy evenings and can be hired.

Wonderful corner pub in Eastney, no TV in main bar so sports is out back on special occasions. This is ideal it encourages conversation. Always clean and tidy very friendly attentive staff, well kept ales and plenty of choice and hooray....HSB for £4.50 a pint. If you are looking for a great pint and no blaring music then this is the pub for you...recently though they have allowed kids in and dogs. Visit in November 2023 and an excellent choice of ales I think I counted 6 of them.....superb. I wish other pubs nearby could keep one or two ales like this, sadly not. For this reason, The Sirlion will continue to get my custom. Only downside is when busy, the lack of furnishings carpet curtain etc means it is loud no dampening you see. They need to address this. It would make it a bit more cosy too.
