Lovely room, comfortable bed, great view, the room was woodcock. The bar was welcoming and comfortable and cosy. Good beer and Kaitlin was friendly and informative. Didn't have dinner so can't comment on the food except breakfast which was great. The only thing was the coffee with breakfast was a little weak for our liking but other than that absolutely nothing to complain about and will be going back. Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel/pub.
Under new management . The staff were amazing and very friendly . The food was divine and arrived with great presentation . The choice of ales, cider, wines and spirits were brilliant. Both managers both called James were lovely and clearly had hand picked brilliant staff as well. Please ignore any previous negative reviews as these are outdated and incorrect. Your visit will be amazing and worth while . Whether that's for a meal or just a quick pint . In terms of location; the pub is situated just off of the Mendip hills and overlooks a beautiful lake Blagdon lake . It is within walking distance of Combe Lodge a popular wedding venue , so makes for an ideal location to stay. A combination of Great staff , tasty food and an idyllic location it's definitive 5 stars .
Great choice of pizzas and taste amazing. staff are friendly and provide a good atmosphere! highly recommend and looks forward to future events they have planned! Food & drinks: Great food! Pizzas are a must!
Booked this hotel 23rd June 2022 for August 2023. Only to find out today that this hotel is now closed. And no-one had the decently to inform us found out via a friend. Please be aware when booking.Rooms: 1/5
We haven't stayed in the bed & breakfast, but have visited the pub a few times for food and drink. Lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. Staff are welcoming and helpful, and the food is delicious. We will definitely return :Service: 5/5
Had a beautiful Sunday roast here today. Lovely crisp and fluffy potatoes, lots of veg, gravy was just right and whole meal was full of flavor. Would highly recommend this pub for eating out.Service: 4/5
We found this local pub on the way to our B&B. Pub was clean, staff polite and helpful, limited menu but very tasty. My fish and chips was the best I ever had, beautifully served, my husband had sirloin steak and again was really good. Overall we really enjoyed meal.Service: 4/5

We stayed here in a family room for one night whilst visiting local attractions. Good points were the location, size of the room and its bathroom which had the nice touch of Shampoo, conditioner, lotion if you happened to forget yours. The, bar and restaurant were comfortable and stylish, and service was good. The bad points unfortunately are that the walls are paper thin. We were all woken up at half midnight by some other guest who may have over indulged, as we heard them banging and crashing in, followed by one of their party being quite poorly for ten or so minutes by which time I was well and truly awake. I couldn't help but be disappointed when we drove into the area to amazing views and then found our room to have a window at the top of a fire escape down to the rear yard. Needless to say I also felt couldn't leave the window open. The children didn't like the menu here, but we enjoyed the adult meals. The breakfast had mixed reviews with the family, but I loved the sausages
Closed down?.... No.. Just reopened late Feb 2023. Looking forward to visiting again soon. Great stop off on a cycle ride.. Good to have this back in business.
