We hadn't been for a while because of the hygiene rating but as this had improved from zero to 4, we decided to give it a go. I loved the new moody decor but did not like the two noisy televisions in the bar so we went into the restaurant. One of our 3 drinks was wrong but this was quickly changed. Two of us had mushroom pie and the pastry was very hard though filling was OK and the rest of it was OK. Prices were also OK at £54 for 3 meals and 3 drinks. Service was very good.
A particularly woeful experience. Not greeted by anyone when we arrived. Found our table but ignored. Had to flag down a waitress. Long wait for food. Food sent back as steaks were almost raw. They weren’t even busy.
Went to Sunday lunch. After we had ordered drinks, we we told beef and lamb were not available. From pork, turkey and chicken I chose pork. The meat was hidden on the plate by a large Yorkshire pudding. The portion size was meagre and included a large lump of fat. Not impressed!
Had a great meal at the Moorend Spout, covid rules were adhered to by the staff who also reminded a couple of young men that they had to wear masks to enter and leave the pub and going to the loo. As previously stated, the food was very good and reasonable priced and the service was excellent. Earlier we had a drink in the garden, see photos.
We visit for lunch with my colleagues and it was disappointed.I had a steak and mushrooms baguette and it was not worthy the 9£. It came without caramelized onions, dry without even butter ,the meat was hard you couldn't eat it and as for the mushrooms it was one raw mushroom on the top. Perfect for a drink, beautiful pub but nor for food .
We had a lovely meal tonight. Great food and lovely service. Will definitely becoming back soon.
Great menu and drinks options. Was really empty when we went on a Friday evening . Lovely staff.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch today..roast pork belly and turkey - both tasty, home cooked, good quality with plenty of meat and fresh vegetables. The pub has recently been refurbished and we sat in the bar, now updated - attractive and welcoming. We have been to the pub over the years, and enjoyed the experience....having been back after a few months away, we will continue to do so.
Popped here for a family lunch after a morning of chores. It was our first time since the re-opening and we thoroughly enjoyed it 2 x adult 3 x teenager. Service was lovely and welcoming at the bar. The bar area seems to have mainly small round tables, which meant it was difficult to find somewhere for a family group to sit and eat but we were able to find a good table in the restaurant area - which had the added bonus of really good table service even though it was quite busy. Prices were reasonable and I thought the burger was one of the best I've had recently and definitely the tastiest in the local area. My daughter also thoroughly enjoyed the sausage and mash, and she is a bit of a sausage connoisseur. Top tip though, the skin on chips were fluffy and better than the fries that came with the burger. We'll definitely be heading back there to work through a bit more of the menu.
Me and my best friend used to come in weekly for lasagne. Then it changed hands. We come in for an evening meal and had burgers... i did send mine back as it was luke warm with a chunky slab of freezing cold cheese in, they made me another but same thing again gave up in the end. Ordered halumi sticks as a side and they are cut so chunky they were stone cold in the middle as well. Very dry burgers ...would not reccomend. Was not busy either.
