This review is for the Airport Parking and not the Tavern Inn. I booked through a comparison website. Very slow on arrival to sort out the booking and leave our car. The floor of the carpark is stones and cement so really dusty and dirty therefore our suitcases were filthy. No help off staff to load our suitcases into a very old, very rusty minibus so our clean travelling clothes were dirty. Dropped off no problem. On return we telephoned as we passed through customs. There was only 1 minibus operating so there was an enormous queue. When I questioned the amount of people times the number of seats I was very rudely and very aggressively told by a worker not the driver to sod off and park in the airport in future if I wasn't happy then he got in the minibus and drove away shouting at me through his open passenger side window threatening to leave us there. We waited 50 minutes from the first phone call to finally arrive at our car!! I would definitely NOT recommend this company. I am just grateful that our car was OK.
We have used airport tavern at least half a dozen times, never had an issue. However after missing our flight, yep, we arrived back after a few hours. They initially could not locate the car key then advised us it was lost. The staff dealt with a very stressful situation quickly, I'm told laid off the staff member, offered to pay for taxi fares and a hotel room for the night. They also reimbursed the parking charge. The incompetence of one staff has dented our trust in this company however I'd like to add they couldn't have dealt with the matter better in fairness.
0 star rating! Please avoid at all costs! Left my car there to come back to find a Rat had chewed all in my car and wiring. The cars written off due to this. The manger/Owner agreed to resolve amicably and without going legal routes but then changed their mind due to the fact I mentioned my mental health & my son possibly being autistic. I have all the evidence, even the part they wanted to sit down and sort it. They’re very rude and will be reported to trading standards etc. two names im aware of were Nick and Sophia. Please do not use please look at the reviews absolutely disgusting and awful. And yeah I am taking them to court.
Close to the airport and cheaper to park than at the airport- we paid £56 for 8 days instead of £100. We booked online, paid when we arrived and a mini van took us to the drop off zone quite quickly. On return we phoned to be picked and though it was nearly 1 am had delays with baggage collection, there were lots of people waiting for the same van with queue jumping so we only got on when the driver came for the third time. Thank goodness he only took 10 minutes to get back each time. Found my car with the remote control - it was dusty and had been moved 7 miles when we were away. The seat adjustments had been changed and it took awhile to get it the way I wanted. Basically you get what you pay for and may have to wait awhile for the the van if lots of people arrive at the same time. If you don’t have much baggage you could walk from the airport which would take about 10 minutes.
The room was clean and provided somewhere to stay overnight before our flight. However the room could benefit from black out blinds, as our room backed onto the car park which had a flood light, it lit up the whole room. Even though it was a Tuesday night there was loud music until 11:30, when we had to get up at 3 for our flight.Rooms: 3/5
They have stolen money coins from the compartment under the hand brake of my car twice already. The first time they dealt with it professionally and apologised. The last time the manager not only didn't apologise, but she blamed it on me saying it is my word against theirs. The manager was far from helpful and had an attitude. She then suggested that I shouldn't leave money in the car to "avoid temptations"...
Recency used this place for hotel parking and had a very poor experience. Having clarified the length of my parking required when I arrived they increased their prices which meant I paid more than was published on their website when I booked. I thought little of this and was told by the employee on the desk thst everything is going up nowadays and parking there was no exception. When I returned from my holiday in the early hours of the morning I called ahead as required to ensure they had my car ready. It took nearly an hour to be picked up by the shuttle and when we were picked up my car was nowhere in sight. Despite having called ahead no one checked where my car was and I found they thought I was arriving the next day... Then they couldn't find my car as all. Another hour and a half passed before my car was found. Customer service at the desk was poor including laughter and jokes which were not well received after a long day travelling with no sleep. I discussed this and was offered £20 refund from my fee and a 50% discount on my next booking. Suffice to say after losing my car I will not be using this offer and find it a poor reflection of their efforts at demonstrating trust in their abilities to manage my booking. Found out they should have had to shuttles working thst night but only had one as the other had problems with its brakes over heard the driver talking loudly. Won't be returning anytime soon and found the compensation offered poor after the desk staff suggested a full refund would be offered!!
We couldn't book here as was full so stayed across the road in the forge. But booked our car into the tavern car park for a week which was to the airport. I cant stress enough how fantastic they are at very reasonable price and transfer to the airport which is free. They drop you and pick you up 24/7. It's one of the best organised small business I have ever come across. Greatwork! Thank You.
Horrendous parking facility, of course the price being low you don’t expect a 5* car park, but when loading the suitcases the driver said “oh a woman of course you can’t do it” and then to top it off, they reparked the car during our stay and left the car UNLOCKED!!! trust me a low price is not worth the risk, you’ll have more chance of the company damaging your items than a thief you’re better off leaving a £50,000 car in a alley way unlocked rather than here
I wish I could put a 0 star if I’m honest ‍ Absolutely do not recommend. Came back after a week to our car been eaten apart by a rat including 2 £600 car seats ‍. The airbag wires chewed through, light panels, the seats, the boot etc. thankfully the car would start so we managed to drive home, the car then won’t turn on and is now un-drivable and completely screwed. Staff were absolutely useless and tried to say we probably bought the rat with us . Jokers, just pay the extra £40 and use the actual airport please please please for the love of god just go look at the Google reviews too. Absolute nightmare
