We stayed here as a couple for my birthday weekend. The restaurant and pub was lovely, with a new specials menu everyday. We particularly enjoyed the pork belly gnocchi and the sharing board. We stayed in the Langford Suite which was beautifully decorated with lots of additional touches mini Prosecco, beer, toiletries. Perfect location to explore Somerset, we visited Cheddar and Wells. Thank you to the team and both managers who were very welcoming.
A lovely pub with a great garden and nice indoor seating areas. We went for a Sunday lunch. The food was excellent and the service started off attentively. It did slow down a little, but I think it’s because we booked just after the lunch rush. Was not a problem though.
Warm and welcoming, gorgeous food and really cosy, I didn’t want to leave. The staff are friendly and attentive and it’s in a stunning countryside setting. The rooms have everything they need and are exceptionally comfy. My dog loved it too and they went out of their way to make sure he was happy too. I can’t thank the staff enough for making it such a pleasurable stay.
Wonderful place to stay, we spent two nights whilst exploring Wells, Cheddar Gorge and the surrounding area. We booked the Langford Suite, the room was beautifully done and very spacious - it felt like a boutique hotel. The breakfast offered a great choice and the range of freshly made food was delicious. We had one evening meal and it was outstanding. My wife is gluten free and it was genuinely refreshing to find somewhere that catered so well for those with dietary requirements. All of the staff were well versed in what was and wasn’t gluten free, so at no point did it feel like asking was an inconvenience. All staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
We stayed at the Langford Inn as it was fairly close to Cheddar Gorge. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, the room we stayed in was a ‘lodge’ across from the main pub, when we opened the door we both said Wow, it was perfect everything was new, clean and worked, the mini bar was well stocked to. The restaurant itself and the service was fantastic and both starters, mains and breakfast the following morning was top draw. We will return again, next time with the dogs, I’d definitely recommend this place to friends and family.
Christmas lunch at the Langford Inn today, excellent experience! Considering it was their first year doing Christmas lunch, we were impressed, it was like a well oiled machine. Service was the right level of attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The food was beyond plentiful and all delicious, the trout was a personal favourite. My only complaint is that it was too much, reducing the sides by half would of still left plenty. Thank you to all the staff for making our Christmas so easy and enjoyable!
The level of cleanliness of the room was a let down. The floor was sticky, the dust had not been done for a while looking at the big cobweb in the bathroom & fake plants covered in dust, the shower head had black mold/ residue, and cherry on the cake... there were marks in the toilets. This makes me doubt that the room was even cleaned. It is a shame because it spoilt the lovely stay we had. Great food, lovely room deco and nice staff otherwise. And it is dog friendly, so paradise for pet lovers! If the room was clean it would have been a good value pricing. Also despite me mentioning I booked this trip to celebrate my birthday, there was no special attention or room upgrade which would have been a nice touch
Really delightful pre Christmas meal with guests. Food was well above average. Good well matched flavours. Lovely ambiance. Service was slow and flowing and unhurried.
Love it. Great rooms with fantastic decor and were spotless. Staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. Evening meal was delicious. I had Bavette steak and it was first class. Breakfast was also very tasty. Lots of space in the garden too, include two little undercover nooks. Stay there with my wife, little man and parents. All loved it. Highly recommended. A+++++++
Beautiful place, the renovation has been done to perfection. Service was great, can't fault the staff. Food was slightly disappointing....I had the salt baked beetroot with daal and tempura vegetables....£16....main meal...it was actually more like a starter compared to the fish and chips that my dinner guests had...1 beetroot cut into chunks, 3 tablespoons of daal and two pieces of broccoli in tempura batter. The cheeseboard to share £17 was equally disappointing with none of the extras as detailed on the menu....we did highlight this to the staff and they bought extra cheese and biscuits but perhaps if we'd have been told beforehand we would have ordered something different. Having been the previous week and enjoyed my lunch was sad to go back with my parents for their anniversary and feel disappointed. The sticky toffee pudding was apparently lovely...dad didn't share!
