My favourite pub in Derby, I came here to watch the rugby and have a few pints and enjoyed the night. Great selection of pints at a good price and the pub has a lot of character. Can't wait for the summer to have a pint outside!Service: 5/5
Great local pub, great atmosphere also good outside space. XxxService: 5/5
A small, very old pub established "circa 1680" on the edge of Derby city centre. It's certainly one of the prettiest and coziest public houses in Derby, but the real ale selection - considering that the town prizes itself as the real ale capital of Britain, and rightly so - is rather small indeed. Do come for the great, historic decor and the smell of times past. Staff are friendly.
Great pub, with exposed beams and a lovely typically brittish pub. Bar staff are friendly and a good selection of drinksService: 5/5
Good entertainment in the beer garden, BQ and band.Food: 5/5
Friendly historic pub with wonderful beer garden. Despite numerous attempts by the local council to destroy it due to its location between two arterial roads,it survives. Friendly atmosphere, good choice of drinks. M
Love visiting old pubs and this one’s great! Plus side it’s always a “Lovey day for a Guinness” there too!Food: 5/5
Great day. Brilliant group "The Vibrons", but 23° and no shade what so ever and very hard seating. Not good.Atmosphere: 5/5
Always a warm welcome in this ancient and much-loved pub. Just outside the city-centre, with easy connections to major roads, an off-road carpark, and only 10 minute walk into town if you want to be in the middle of the shops.Service: 5/5
We visited yesterday and were very impressed with the service we received. We were given the opportunity to sample a beer we hadn't tried before and the landlady insisted on replacing a pint of Pedigree as it was the last served from the cask despite us telling her it tasted fine. We'll be back.Food: 5/5
