Really loved my visit, the staff were friendly and warm. Basic but great food selection. I recommend the Bakewell tart it appeared to be baked fresh and came to me hot with a side of berries. Vegetarian options: They have cheese board,veggie burger and other items can be found on the menu .
Oh my goodness! The Silk Mill was recommended by someone who lives in Australia yep, really and it was The staff were all lovely and friendly, the food was delicious, I'm sure if we meet up with friends and family in Derby again the Silk Mill will be visited & recommended! Kid-friendliness: Lovely kids menus and the staff were lovely to the kids when they went wandering round to explore!
Lovely early evening meal celebrating a Birthday. Had booked restaurant but decided to eat in the bar area. Lovely atmosphere, excellent quality food. Staff were very helpful and great service. Definitely recommend .
Didn't eat but scored the food on its appearance because I'm a nosey so&so hence 4 stars. Right a proper nice put that has the atmosphere a local pub can give you. Staff are polite & attentive, it's just a nice place to call in for a pint or 2Food: 4/5

We had our Works Christmas Party here last Friday evening. The bar was incredibly busy but the service was friendly and it was quick to be served. We had the Christmas Feast menu and it was the best Christmas meal we've had. The portion sizes for all courses were enormous! The food was served piping hot and was delicious. I can highly recommend coming here and we hope to be back again next Christmas. Thanks you
This is a lovely pub with interesting decor and great atmosphere. They serve a good selection of ales, spirits and bar snacks. I went for food and ordered the fish and chips and my friend had the steak. The food was delicious, though the prices quite steep for the portion sizes recieved. That is my only gripe - an otherwise lovely pub with a good history and great, friendly service.
Nice pub, well looked after. Staff nice. Only downside was 2 guys sat at the way in to the toilets. They must have been something to do with the pub as they were drinking their own drinks, not customers. Very off putting.Service: 5/5
This pub has a good deal of passing trade and a few regulars due to its position behind Derby Cathedral. The food is excellent and since its makeover a couple of years ago the décor is very good befitting a quality place to enjoy a pint or two. Is a sister pub to the brilliant Exeter Arms. The Silk Mill has a wide range of real ales with staff who are very helpful in recommending which beers suit the customers requirements. A great quality boozer located right behind the Cathedral for easy navigation !! Has a great beer garden in Summer and proper log fires in Winter. Enjoy. M
Lovely pub with great ales and a great food menu. The pub has a wonderful outdoor terrace, particularly ideal in the summer. Very friendly staff and superb atmosphere. One of the highlights of Derby Ale houses.Food: 5/5
