Wonderful, friendly craft / continental beer bar in a great corner spot location near Derby Cathedral. Draft beers on tap as well. Staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, brilliant place to relax, and people-watch. Occasionally live acoustic music with local talent. Great coffee available as well. Enjoy. M
One of the most unique bars in Derby, if you're after cheap pints of generic lager this isn't for you. A wide selection of continental beers on draft ranging from relatively low abv wheat beers to high abv Belgian strong ales. Even more styles are bottled, Lambic, fruit beers, quads, tripples, dubbles, Trappist, blondes and more. There's also a couple of 'Real' cask ales, soft drinks, cocktails and hot drinks. Decor is quite contemporary and atmosphere is super relaxed, it has a fairly upmarket feel to it with people enjoying a few beers without getting absolutely smashed. Staff are informed, helpful and friendly. Highly recommended, especially if you appreciate really good continental beers.
Quiet place to enjoy a good drink. If you're sick of loud bars where you can't hear yourself think let alone talk to someone then this is a great place to chill with some like minded individuals with a craft beer.
The Worm is a lovely little continental style bar in Derby's Cathedral Quarter. It has a good selection of domestic and European craft beers on tap. There is a small but thoughtfully chosen selection of bottled and canned beers including some decent Belgian beers. Excellent coffee too. The staff are outgoing and friendly even willing to indulge and engage with aging beer nerds. The two cask ales on offer are, however, somewhat less than exciting. The bar is not inexpensive but is trying to be different and really worth a visit.
Fantastic selection of craft, particularly Belgian beers. Nice clean, open atmosphere. Welcome friendly staff. Loved it
Been twice to see Two Pound Double-Up. Really great atmosphere. Bar staff were helpful in explaining drinks I wasn't sure of and helping me find something I'd enjoy. The own downside for some is the limited toilets when it's busy, but otherwise a fantastic place.
Alcoholic drinks were fine, but the hot chocolate was like muddy water, no taste and no body, but very expensive.
Visited on a Saturday night & found it to be a nice comfortable place with a reasonable range of beers & spirits no Jack Daniels . We moved on to another pub but came back here because we could hear each other talking. Maybe we,'re just old!
Seriously disappointed; having had a few ales in here several times I was really surprised/angry? at the barman taking offence at a comment he misheard about his checked shirt, and then refused to serve our group. We won’t be back - sorry guys! There are other bars with decent beer in town.
This is a lovely little bar/coffee place. Some lovely beers on draft as well as a great range of bottled beers etc. Nice atmosphere for a catch up and a beer and also a great place to sit and watch the world go by
