Lovely restaurant just across from Wells Harbour. We were looking for a spot to have lunch and this restaurant was excellent. Friendly host who greeted us and gave us an excellent table by the window overlooking the harbour with a lovely view. Food was excellent, very tasty and amazing value for money. Would recommend and return.
Fantastic fresh sea food. I loved it. But the service was a bit slow even though it wasn’t busy. We waited 15mins to get the bill. In the end, we had to go and pay it. They didn’t even apologise. That’s a shame: they have such good food, but the service..
Staff were polite and friendly. Great views of the quay if near the windows and was clean and tidy. Food was average with mid-high prices. The wait after ordering and between courses was too long and it was not overly busy. Thought it was where customers were coming in, but, the aircon made one end of our table really cold/uncomfortable the whole evening, only found out when passing the unit when leaving. Overall ok, family friendly, but, take something to keep the kids busy while you wait.
Great views and service was okay. Had the seafood platter which didn't seem very fresh and more placed from container to plate the fries were the best bit, seafood parpadelle was nice but overly rich and a large portion. The oysters were really nice though, but better on their own than with the chimmichurri sauce they came with. It was a quick decision for dinner when in Wells but I don't think I'd come back out of choice.
Huge variety of fresh seafood, deliciously prepared at overall fair prices. Great view from the window seats as the restaurant is on the 1st floor, but your need likely to reserve a table if you want to sit at the window in the evening.
Absolutely brilliant, I couldn't fault it. Lovely staff very happy. Food was fantastic and one of the best views you could ask for
I visited this resturant with my partner and child after checking the rating we thought it would be good as it had more than 4 stars out of 5. Upon arrival we were greeted by a question - have we got a booking... no smile, no hello... we felt awkward, as if we were causing a great inconvenience by turning up without a booking. After checking her list for a while, she told us the only table available was the beach hut right in the corner. It felt like she was doing us a great favour by offering us this table. The resturant was almost empty. At least 3 sets of people came after us and they were greeted better than we were, they didnt have any bookings but were quickly shown to tables more to the middle of the resturant which werent available for us a mere 5-15 mins ago. If its booking only or bookings are preferred then this should be made clear by a sign on their door! When it came to ordering from the menu, we went for the cod and chips, when we asked what extras we could order with it we were faced with a stare that made us feel as if we have asked a stupid question... the waitress was quite rude and made us feel uncomfortable. We would respond to her in clear English and she would just stare at us as if we're speaking another language and we felt we had to repeat what we said. She also made us feel as if we should be very familiar with the menu and know what could be served along with the meal. For example, we asked whether mushy peas or gravy were available, she just stared and said no quite rudely without telling us what was available... turns out peas and tartare sauce were available with the meal but we only found this out once our food arrived and the another waiter told us. After waiting for a while, when the food came, the fish was burnt and did not taste that great at all. For over £12 per portion youd expect a better meal, the food was of worse quality than my local takeaway. After the horrible service we did not complain, but we made a firm decision to never visit this resturant ever again. If I could give less than 1 star I would but google doesnt allow you to do that.
Really good view, service and nice food. Slightly pricey for the quality but I think what you'd expect for how tourist central Wells is in the area. I had the burger, kids had pasta, wife had Scampi and chips and all were grand!
The one star was dedicated to the waitresses who provided great services. I was grossly disappointed at all other things that my family and I have experienced at the restaurant. I ordered a seafood platter, which should, but didn't come with the oyster. I wasn't advised they had run out of oysters at the time of ordering. When I asked to change for a different item on the menu, the poor waitress had to relay the messages from the CHEF that there would be a small charge for returning the platter because they COULDN'T REUSE ANY FOOD ON THE PLATE. That was not a justifiable reason to any standards because you simply don't reuse food that has already been served. We managed to not pay the small charge after the waitress very kindly passed on our reactions to the charge. We understood that the CHEF was annoyed at the waitress who fought for our rights. When I finally reordered my food, I was told that there would be extended waiting time to my order, which again, was not satisfactory because they failed to inform me they ran low of oysters initially. The CHEF later on came out to the bar area and constantly glanced over to our table for a good 10 minutes, disgruntled. My mum ordered cod and fries, and everything on the plate was soggy. The mackerel fillets were nice however in all fairness.
Great view over harbour, excellent Seafood Platter, wine choice was limited on the day I was there, but the bottle we had was an acceptable table wine
