Story

The Three Horseshoes is a haven in North Norfolk for people who love pubs with real character. Soak up the atmosphere in our unspoilt bar and dining rooms, or soak up the sunshine in our spacious walled garden. Enjoy our simple, unfussy food, made with the best local produce, local ales, fine wines and, if you're staying, stylish but cosy bedrooms. We are family-owned and family-run and pride ourselves on a warm welcome to all.

The Horseshoes dates back to 1725, its long history evident in the traditional serving hatch (one of few surviving in Norfolk), pamment-tiled floors, scrubbed wooden tables and many authentic features. You can eat and drink in the snug atmosphere of our bar and dining rooms, warm and cosy in the winter and refreshingly cool in the summer. Or you can enjoy the glorious Norfolk outdoors in the sheltered environment of our walled garden, with plenty of space for adults, children and dogs.

Great local village pub. Recently renovated but very sensitively to the history of the pub. Many of the traditional features harking back to its history as a blacksmith and way station through to a local shop. Vintage posters and traditional domestic appliances Adorn the walks and display cabinets. Can't yet comment on the food as the gas hadn't been connected and the kitchens therefore not fully up and running but they promise too class home cooked food.

First time we've been back since the refurbishment today (23/12/2017) The pub looks very clean and bright whilst keeping alot of the older fittings. There are still pies on the menu, but it now has a wider choice of food. I had the local sausages with fresh vegetables and mashed potatoes, lovely sausages, crunchy fresh vegetables and creamy mash. My wife had the root vegetable stew and dumplings which looked very nice and she said it was very tasty. It was a vegetarian dish and there was a good choice of these, not just the standard 3 bean chilli that vegetarians always get fobbed off with. I had a local beer which was ok, being from 'up North' I can't get used to the southern beers, but it didn't taste like pond water which makes a change! Overall the pub has been brought up to date, whilst keeping its charm. Would definitely recommend a visit.
