This site offers all the facilities required for camping plus the showers block etc is kept clean. The site is within easy walking distance to the town centre, a lovely park leading to the sea front and a clean beach. South Shields is a lovely place to visit and Sandhaven Holiday Park is one of the best sites/areas we have been to lately. My only issue is regards to charging £3.00 per night for a dog. The dog walks are via the adjacent park and other open spaces not on the site obviously so how can they justify this charge. However, I would go back regardless of the unnecessary charge for dogs.
We arrived not really sure of what to expect. The static home was immaculately presented. Everything worked, especially the heating, it was mid March and pretty cold outside at nights. It was also extremely well equipped. A short and pleasant walk to the stunning beach especially at low tide. Plenty of choice with keeping children amused and happy, lots of eateries. 20 minutes to the centre of Newcastle with an even larger choice of food venues and places of historical interest. We were so impressed we extended our stay!
Lovely, small site right on the coast. Friendly staff. Plenty to do in the area.
Probably the best site we've been on so far this year, beautiful location very close to the beach, really clean site the. toilet /shower block is immaculately kept pitches have own water and waste water disposal too. One grumble the pitches are very hard to drive awning pegs into even the ones done by drill are difficult, apart from that a really fantastic site.
Stayed in a static caravan first time always fancied staying in one and didn't disappoint. Everything u could ask for very comply specially the sofa would definitely return was very quiet just wished we had booked for longer may b next time thanks guys.x

Caravan park kept nice and tidy,had to pay extra to do everything,, pool very small you had to book it ,,,,right on the beach

Well kept site.But prices are abit expensive for motorhomes and payment for dogs.£3 a night. Which I couldn't justify why,as there is no dog facilities. What was the charge for. Bad reception for TV.
We have been to Sandhaven many times and always enjoyed it, booked early March and told the price has gone up to £30, blaming last years covid ,they are starting to take the mick, premier inn down the road is £35., I have to be in Shields for those dates but I don't think I'll be returning.
