Sandaway Beach Holiday Park

About

A beautiful holiday destination set above the beach in Combe Martin run by John Fowlers

Story

Sandaway Beach Holiday Park stands on a cliff’s edge at the very edge of the ocean with breathtaking sea views. A stepped path leads you to Sandaway’s private ‘Mermaid’s Cove’ beach. The cove has a rocky foreshore and sprinkling of sand and is the perfect spot for fishing in rock pools while Mum and Dad sit back and enjoy a haven of peace and quiet spotting the passing boats and maybe even a dolphin! Return from the beach and take a dip in our superb outdoor swimming pool with toddler’s area or relax with a drink and something to eat in our Smuggler’s Bar and take in the incredible views. In this setting, you’ll soon find the daily pressures melt away.

Just a 10 mile drive (or walk along the dramatic Coastal path for the more active) are the picturesque villages of Lynton and Lynmouth linked by cliff railway. You’ll be amazed by the views from the Valley of Rocks or you can explore Exmoor – why not see if you can spot a deer or an Exmoor pony!

Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park offers a haven of peace where you can enjoy a restful holiday. The park is set into the valley with picture postcard views from the park. A winding path leads you to the top of the park and to our woodland walk where the kids are free to roam and enjoy the natural surroundings. At the bottom of the park you'll find the clubhouse where you can sit back and enjoy a drink in the bar, have a game of pool or let someone else do the hard work and cook you a bar meal. All of which you can enjoy whilst looking out on some of the very best sea views North Devon has to offer.

Take a wander down to our very own Newberry Beach where you can spend the day relaxing in the sun whilst the kids play in the sea or stroll down into the traditional seaside village of Combe Martin where you will find pubs full of Devon charm where you can enjoy a local ale or enjoy a traditional British tea of fish and chips from the local chippy - just make sure the Seagulls don't steal your chips!

Please note the pool is open from 18th July to 30th August. Outside of these times, guest are welcome to use the pool at our sister park, Sandaway, which is located just a few minutes away.

Old smelly caravan ... Not exactly clean but worst was the toilet Really need update... Good base for exploring North Devon... Good food No internet connection
Excellent holiday park, we returned this morning after a week. Picturesque with a lovely swimming cove, easily accessible from the holiday park. Didn't use the swimming pool but it's well maintained and very clean. Bar good with sea views, and food is available if you don't want to cook or go further afield. Staff are lovely. Caravans are clean, comfortable and well equipped. Quiet park which suited us fine. There is a shop on site if you need to buy basics. Will book again.
What a little gem of a place! We stayed in the bronze pet caravan. It was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. It was much better than I expected it to be! We found the small club house to be reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. Mermaid Cove the sites own beach was beautiful. It's a little steep... going down is fine, though coming back up the steps meant I had to have a rest a couple of times old age creeping in, lol. During our stay we did not use the pool the weather was not too good, nor did we purchase food from Chef's Corner, so I can't comment on these facilities. The park is a little hilly. However, it has fantastic views and the town is just a short walk away. We could have easily stayed another week. We will definitely be returning here. It is a great base for exploring North Devons beaches!
Stayed here in May In a dog friendly caravan. Lovely little site but could of done with a better soft play area for the younger ones as most stuff was broken. Very friendly staff, the private cove was amazingRooms: 5/5
Great location, looking over the beach, pleasant atmosphere and entertainment, went here on a hiking trip as we went up the hills around the coast of combe martin then moved on to the coast of Cornwall which had beautiful scenery, south has always been my favourite of the UK, pleasant staff, great for a budget place to stay, as we weren't stopping in the complex, can't fault it, loved the stay id go again.
We loved the place, we had a small daughter who's under 2 but she can run up and down the length of the entertainment area and we could still see her, lovely families on the same trip who had lovely kids also. Food was great pizzas are lovely Entertainment staff were great with my little one and the pool was cold but once you were in comfy Caravan was a perfect size for the 3 of us super clean, we had a bedding issue but my partner went up to reception at 9pm they still sorted it for us within 10 minutes Staff were all fantastic! My daughter absolutely loved the ladies in the shop they were so kind Beach is 5 minute walk and good location for the wildlife park and surrounding attractions We would 100% stay again!
Great view. The room was fairly clean. You need to bring your own towels and toiletries. It’s very comfortable staying here. The swimming pool was very clean and tidy. Very friendly and helpful staffs. The children play area was well maintained. It was very quiet at night even though there were plenty kids and babies around. Good sound proofing! We would love to come back again.
Don't order food. Over an hour wait. We ordered a big table of food. By the time ours came the other 2 families with us had long finished. Woman at food corner in the bar kept correcting everyone in a rude tone as if we were thick. Got my friends order wrong. Man behind the bar was very pleasant. Only went to the club twice during our stay but would definitely not go again for the rest of our stay, we will go elsewhere.
I can safely say that this has to be the nicest caravan park I've stayed on in my 50 years on God's green earth. Lovely location caravan 60 has a sea view Caravan is very well appointed even has a dishwasher, a real treat Club house and it's team are warm and friendly The site is always pleasantly quiet Absolutely no chavs. 10 minutes walk into the village. Has it's own beach very steep walk, but I found it clears the cobwebs in the morning My only criticism is and the site are no way to blame, late July early August 2023, the weather was sh1t, our holiday would have been so much better with some sun. I would 100% come back here again it's very rare that I say that.
Just had a week there and really enjoyed our stay. We stayed in a platinum plus caravan that was very comfortable and super clean. The site is perf3ctly positioned for visiting the local area. Looking forward to our next stay
