We stayed for 5 nights and very sad to leave. We've had a relaxing, peaceful break. The site is very well maintained and they've retained the natural wild beauty. As you walk around the site, it's quiet with stunning views. You can see wild garlic, primroses, bluebells and ferns along embankments throughout. If you're looking for a tranquil holiday, this is the place to go. Stunning woodland walks within the site or you can stroll around the lake bursting with wildlife, plants and trees. The facilities are immaculate. The shower block provides bathrooms rather than a shower cubicle and separate loo. Fantastic for families or those that need help mobility wise. Washers/dryers available at a small cost as well as use of a bath £2.00 for 15 mins hot water. Great for soak after long walks. Free use of hairdryer/iron/ironing board/microwave and kettle. The wardens, incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to help us. They lent us some foam mats so our awning carpet could stay dry as we set up in the rain. Walks to the beach is 5 mins walk and this leads you to the town. We didn't explore and we're happy to enjoy the beach and relax on site every day. The evening skies are worth it as there is light pollution and the dark skies are fantastic. From the site, you can hear the sea. If you love hearing the birds morning chorus, crashing waves, owls tooting all night. Fantastic walks, wardens and good size pitches. This is the place to be. By far, this is the nicest UK site for us as we love wildlife and scenery. Thank you to the wardens for helping us on our arrival and especially for the extra fuss and cuddles you gave our dog. We're looking forward to a return visit.
Stayed here with my wife whilst walking the south west coast path on the 10/4/2024 Arrived around 5.30pm with no prior booking called the wardens number on reception door and he came straight round, found us a pitch, showed us the facilities and had us sorted out in 5 minutes! Fantastic service! Great facilities used the showers and washers/dryers everything worked perfectly, lovely clean facilities. Would definitely recommend to south west coast path hikers or anyone else for that matter Would definitely visit again.
Lovely campsite set in a tranquil location- a perfect base for exploring also. Great pitches- we were very fortunate to have a corner sheltered pitch which was much appreciated in the stormy weather. The facilities were very clean and staff were friendly.Rooms: 5/5
Not quite the luxury we expected. We were given a pitch which was very narrow which meant we had to walk on the muddy wet grass to get around the van. Toilet blocks were at each end of the site,we were in the middle bit so quite a walk to either one. Not all the site roads were tarmacad, rough stone with potholes. Not ideal for my wife mobility issues. I asked if we could move to another pitch but was told this was not possible. Will not be going again.
Stuck up owners who don't like it if you own an older van! We booked here in 2014 with our first ever caravan .. a 1994 model which was top of the range when first made. When booking I specifically requested a pitch near the toilet block due to problems after an operation I'd had. This was apparently all ok with the woman I spoke to, as they weren't busy due to being the end of the season. When we arrived we pulled up past the office so they'd obviously clocked our 'ancient' caravan!, & went in to collect all the info on pitch etc. Got back to the car & set off to find said pitch .. only to find it was right at the far end of the park, practically as far away from the toilet block as they could get us, & pretty much out of sight of the main park! We had to walk through mud to get in our van as there was barely enough room for the car & van! On checking the paper we'd been given with the pitch number on, I noticed the original pitch number had been scribbled out, & this one written on instead. We drove back around to check the original pitch number, & it was near the toilet block like I'd asked for! But they obviously didn't want us up in the main area as our van wasn't up to their high standards. I was fuming, so we went back to reception to complain I left the piece of paper in the car. Funnily enough the pitch she gave us after I complained was the original one she'd scribbled out!! We all have to start out somewhere, & we'd bought a cheap van to see how we got on. We were actually trading it in for a new one a week after we got back from this park. I'd never set foot in this place again though!
A lovely campsite run by super friendly and helpful wardens who opened up late for me after arriving at 7pm on the coast path. Nice clean showers and toilets.Service: 4/5
We’ve been lucky enough to stay at Newberry Valley several times and we go back year after year. Why? First the site is immaculate, the facilities clean and the pitches are a good size providing ample space for privacy. We always find the team at Newberry happy, helpful and provide a warm welcome. The location is amazing! With a dog friendly beach just outside the gate, and a short albeit up hill back walk to the village, you could literally park up and never need to use your car again until you head home. The local pub does great food and an even more beautiful view. We literally love this site and so does our dog. Thank you to the team at Newberry Valley for many happy holiday memories, we look forward to seeing you again soon.
Can't fault the site or the staff. The staff worked tirelessly to keep the site up to an excellent standard. The shower blocks were always clean. A small grumble for me is that the shower cubicles all had a toilet. Personal choice but don't like that set up. I must stress that I can't fault the cleanliness. We were located at the back of the site on a pitch with plenty of room for a motorhome, awning and a large picnic table that was already supplied by the site. For those who fish, the small lake was well stocked as you could see the large fish/carp when walking past in the morning sun. My only disappointment is the actual location of the site. Not a lot to do in Combe Martin. The area is beautiful if you are willing to travel for big beaches or do a lot of walking. The site is well worth a visit if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing and quiet holiday. Thank you Newberry Valley.
A superb family run touring park. The staff are friendly and helpful which is well appreciated. The site is quiet October was our staycation. Owls are hooting in the dark autumnal night. The showers and toilets are clean and tidy and well maintained. There is a fishing lake on site and a fishing licence is required which is obtainable from the site reception. The site is a ten minute stroll downhill into Combe Martin. We totally enjoyed our stay. We will return.
Our favourite site. Shower rooms and a bath room! are always clean. Laundry facilities were good. Best location. Dog friendly beach a short walk. Lots of places to go for food & drinks. Helpful reception with a small shop for essentials.
