Fantastic place! Had 2 each of all the fish cakes they do and they where the best we have ever had to date!! We also had the very large prawns with shell on which considering ive eaten shellfish all my life!!! Ive never tasted a shellfish so tasty and plump! We would extremely recommend this fish shop

A well stocked fishmongers with an abundance of evidently fresh produce locally sourced having a small harbour on their doorstep at West Bay gives them a constant supply from the various day boats rejuvenating their stocks with plentiful seasonal catches netted sometimes within a mile or two of the shore.
Excellent fishmongers, the best for miles. We travel here even though there are fishmongers closer to home because the quality is much better. A better range of fish and shellfish than most fishmongers around here. Helpful staff as well.
If you want excellent service and fresh fish, look no further. We arranged to get fish from the Friday night catch first thing Saturday morning. We collected the two different types of fish nicely filleted and cut into steaks first thing Saturday morning and it was absolutely delicious.
Below average fishmonger. The brown crab meat was potentially the worst I have ever had. The scallops bought 14 were so rancid I just binned them as soon as I got home. The only thing that was OK, just OK was the skate wing. Instead of them, just go to waitrose and get your fish and shellfish. Disappointing, especially as I am a local businesses ambassador.
This fish shop has been here for longer than I care to remember. The fish is always fresh and the crab is delicious. Th And you for going out of your way to bag up our purchases and packing with ice. Much appreciated.
Friendly staff who are always happy and make time for you! A range of fish, crabs and shellfish to purchase and my girls' favourite shells to buy also!
I didn't go in, I didn't eat there, it wasn't even open. But I walked passed on the way to my car and we stopped to look at the Lobster, my Gran was telling me about how they were cooked and I find that cruel in itself, but the way this shop has them on display is frankly disgusting. There were about 8 in there all piled up on top of each other because there was not enough room in there for all of them, but this is only of what we could see, the water was so dirty it was almost going black, but the worst part, for me was the fact that they literally had their claws taped shut, they had elastic bands around them to keep them shut and I find it disgusting. If you're going to keep them, give them a good life before they are dropped in boiling water alive and scream until they die and turn red! If I could rate 0 stars, I would. But I can't !
Samways has an excellent reputation for selling high quality fresh fish. Lots of their stock is shipped to high end restaurants in the cities.
